Now there is a sensible debate sea-man and I agree but it was bad luck that di resta did something similar before and the stewards had to stay consistant. I think most of us would agree it was the correct result though too as it spoilt another drivers race from an opertunist overtake that didnt go to plan

I think I have had a busy day giving negative REP today including many users and posts on this thread.

 

Hamilton thought he had a puncture at that point so got well out of the way of whoever might have been behind him. He took the hairpin off line and Schumacher was well down the inside before the apex. When Hamilton tried to take Massa it was opportunistic at best. Massa turned into his apex before Hamilton appeared (indeed, there is no way Massa could have known Hamilton was there, so far behind was the Englishman). By the apex Hamilton had four wheels off the circuit and proceeded to drive Massa off towards the barriers. This is why I wondered if you were watching in Braille. My apologies if you simply didn't understand what was going on between the drivers.

The penalty was for an avoidable collision not cutting corners.

and no mention of how Lewis managed to have Massa squeezed offline in the tunnel despite the Perez incident the day before showing the seriosu consequences of this. The tunnel is not somewhere to be overtaking, there is one line that works and everything other line, especially now with the marbles that exist, is a one way ticket into the barriers

 

No one actually gives a damn about rep, who seriously would. It's a humorous display of cowardice as people leave negative rep for, sometimes, baffling reasons but refuse to allow themselves to be identified. Kudos however as identifying yourself as a serial distributour of negative rep.

The tunnel incident

Hamilton got better traction/drive out of the corner as confirmed by Martin Brundle and was on the inside/racing line in the tunnel.

Even more to the point Hamilton was not touching Massa inside the tunnel, Massa drove over the marbles. When a driver too far over like Massa did in the tunnel they are on a part of the track where the surface has not been cleaned by the cars over the course of the weekend and there is no rubber laid down. Also there are huge chunky Pirreli marbles so there is significantly less grip and the car slides into the barriers.

This happened to Massa without Hamilton touching him so I don't see how "Hamilton drove him into the barriers". Massa could have backed out of the power a little bit and pulled onto the racing line behind hamilton.
