3.00 Leicester Pythagorean EVS- Extremely well handicapped if he puts in a performance tomorrow. They need to switch him off again out the back but this is not a strong handicap field and he really ought to win this before tilting at bigger events. Other notables for me were 2.30 Claude Greenwood- 10/1 tissue but I expect much shorter- He is very nicely treated for a run up the handicap now so it won't be long until he strikes for the Simcock yard- and in Redcars 2.10 Jonny Lesters Hair 14/1 e.w might be interesting dropping down a further couple of pounds to a mark of 65 in a big field that he might get stretched out if they revert to front-running tactics.
Pythag is another 'if it doesn't win horse racing is officially bent' bets. And so is Rebel Fitz in Ireland - heavy ground though and short odds on means i'm not backing him. There's better 8/11 shots most days of the week.
Frankel's half sister should be an interesting watch. Clearly precocious if she's out this early - the yards first 2yo runner of the season.
GGW, I'm told she's very forward - they've done everything they can with her at home. I believe they are looking to the Albany at Royal Ascot.
Morning, troops. How are we??? Well if my old fave Pythagorean doesn’t win today at Leicester then many a theory will be blown out of the water. Personally, I think he’ll score with plenty in hand although I’m not so sure why connections are so keen to scoop a meagre pot of £6k or so with such a promising animal. Hopefully after today he’ll still remain in my ‘Royal Ascot handicap portfolio’ for the Britannia along with dear old Lieutenant Miller in the Ascot Stakes. Good to see a selling hurdle back on the old agenda at Newton Abbot today although it is of the ‘lady amateur’ variety. Incidentally, the old Clerk of the Course assures me that it is only the horses up for sale/claiming after the race not the lady amateur riders so no-one get any silly ideas. Good luck all.
Long time no post and here are two reasons why!! Kirtling Bottle, Redcar 2.00 Trainer had 2 winners yesterday. Aramist, Redcar 3.40 Was the MUST have aftershave before heading out to the Disco late 80's.
Aramis (without the "t") wasn't it? What other brands were popular at the time? I remember Kouros and Paco Rabanne .................
Jazz - black and white bottle. Aramis on the face, Jazz on the torso it was a heady mixture - call it hedging my bets....
Jazz totally forgotten about that one. Brilliant. Ah the memories. Waking up next morning, the expensive after shave overpowered by the smell of booze and ***s
What female could resist BRUT when sponsored by Henry Cooper and Kevin Keegan ... sur efire winner .. dooohhhh
What is this, a perfume post forum? Nivea and Mum were also going strong at that time, for the peasants like me that is............ 14:30 Leicester - Studfarmer (Only won sellers up till now, but has a bit of a chance here. Worried about Ingleby Royale who is dropped in class, but passed-over (which might well be a mistake) due 291-day break). GL all!
Gosh, it's changed on this board, long gone are discussions about lunches and/or Flubers movements. Now we are onto Eau d t's. Today I am hoping Joyeuse is special at Lingfield. Good luck all and stay scented.
Oh yes, too true. My old governor in Edmonton, his office reeked of that plus Philip Morris ***s and...Maxwell House coffee, of course.
England have been on the field less than 25 mins and already have two subs on. Anybody know if there were injuries yesterday or is this the usual abuse of the rule?!
England have all day to dismiss 3 tail enders and still can be backed at 1/3 with Coral...must be weather moving in.
SMP, a very appropriately named runner for the way today's thread has panned out! No one going to admit to splashing on the old Hai Karate then? I'm too young to have encountered blokes wearing all these old staples, though I think my dad used to wear Old Spice. Sadly the males of my generation thought half a can of Lynx was a substitute for a shower!
