Too lightweight for me. Maybe one for the future but not what we need for our first season in the Prem. Still young and will beef up, but we're already going through that long progress with Velikonja.
Got an eye for goal - good record with the development squad but still work in progress. That first half in the last game at Hull wasn't quite fair on him though, he had very little support around him. Maybe a loan season back in the Championship where he'll get a regular run out may be best for next year.
Can't see him making the 25 to be honest, though we'll have a few under age players that means we should have plenty of room. Saying that, do we have 25 players?
Agreed Hilts. I think he is destined for one of the big clubs. Got a really bright future ahead of him.
Far too lightweight at the moment but a talented player for the future. Probably not what we need for next season.
If we signed him hed be 1 of the 1st names on the team sheet. Palace will do well to keep him. Weve some good midfielders - hes better than all of them.(in my opinion)
I would like to have him. However, I think he will cost too much for us and I think we are alright in that area of the field (kimbo, mutch, whitts and gunnars).
Saw him at Hull. 'Not in the game' does not begin to describe his contribution - the game changed for us when he went off at half-time. Saw him the following week playing over 90 minutes for the Development Squad in a final - he didn't even look good at that level. He wouldn't get in to a Championship side - and I don't think he ever will for more than a few games. I think one of our 'scouts' should look for new work.
Hilts - if he was one of the first on the team sheet next season, we'd come back down. Great talent and destined for the top flight as a regular, but not good enough for that accolade right now.
If the Stripey Nigels hadn't won yesterday he would have been well worth going for as a good squad player for next season and a bright light for the future. I had not seen much of him until the Wales game v. Croatia. He was Wales best player in the first half and very impressive. His movement, passing and covering/closing down were all excellent. However, with Palace getting promoted, £15m in the bank for Zaha and the riches that come with promotion there is very little chance he will leave them in the near future.
Lightweight? No way. I'd snap him up now but now that palace have gone up there's no way we'll get him.
Not saying he isn't any good and we shouldn't go for him Glam, just that he's got a fair bit to learn yet and is no way a nailed on starting lineup choice for this first season up there. You are almost certainly right that he will stay with Palace now they're up. I'd definitely take him if available though. A great little player who's destined to make his name with a Prem club - I'd like to think with ours, but we need some Prem experience in the squad right now. If the money is made available to do it as we are led to believe it is, that's the priority spend - Johnny is the future and would be a huge bonus at this stage.
