One of the greatest games in Swans history. Sinclairs hat trick, Dobbies stunner, Monks toe, the anxious wait for tickets, the journey, the party. Great memories - what was your favourite of that day?
Short of my boy being born, nothing came close to the emotions i felt that day. Pure adrenalin filled day. I think in the 92nd minute I finally thought we are up.
It did get a bit nervy in the second half. I was late coming back after having a couple of pints at half time and couldn't work out why the guy in front of me was trying to get the crowd going again saying that we were still in it. I hadn't realised they'd pulled 2 back
Best day of my life as a Swans supporter, without a doubt. Loved the whole experience from beginning to end and topped it off by meeting all the players in Morgans later that night which was fantastic. Despite Sinclair's hat trick Dobbie was MOM for me and I told him so. Almost everything we did right came through him in the first half, and for me he scored the best goal of the match. He made that volley look easy and it really wasn't. Happy memories for sure.
How can anyone accurately describe the full range of emotions on that day , at the start of day travelling up ,blasé by saying well it's not the end of the world if we lose today, building up to by half time full of confidence of this is easier than we thought to pure fear of failure when they pulled to back two goals nearly wetting myself with pure joy when scotty slotted his hat trick .I along with 34, 000 like minded jacks must have gone through every emotion possibly known to man that day and one which will remain with me for ever . a truly great day .
Loads of great memories; stopping off in the services by Reading on the way up and thinking you we're in Swansea - the place was heaving with Jacks. The build-up inside Wembley; taking a 3 - 0 lead and thinking it was all over; Reading coming back and then the fear of blowing it - and then the second penalty by Sinclair and starting to dream again. Same as trundle's left foot, only in added time did I finally believe it was coming true. The funniest part of the day however was when we were 3 - 0 up and we saw an 80 year old granny with her arms raised chanting "Are you watching Cardiff s**m?"
Got video footage of the Swans players drunkenly singing the same tune in Morgans, Taff. Bit controversial, but funny. Cue the outrage from the usual suspects.
For me, with the pressure Reading put us under, when Monk defected that shot onto the post, I knew it was our time. Bloody glad we had that pen mind.
I for one am outraged. Disgusting KJ. Why didn't you post it up! My experience was totally different to most, my mate had a spare ticket for me and gave it to a bird he was after on the morning of the game! Twart. I had to jump back on the train to Brighton and try to find a pub showing the game. Only 2 to be found one of which was a tiny telly with the volume off! Eventually found a pub full of reading fans with just 2 Norwich fans sitting in the middle. They saw my shirt and invited me to sit with them. I was the butt of much abuse when they started scoring but by the end of the game I vaguely remember dancing on the table with the Norwich guys before the bouncer kicked me out.... Always had a healthy respect for Norwich fans ever since.
My mate's got it on his phone, steve. Will have to see if he's kept it. I remember Dobbie being in the heart of it along with Williams. pmsl. He also took footage of both of us either side of Dyer but the lighting was so bad all you could see was his teeth.
