With you on that one. But you can never please some of our fans.

No doubt if we did sign Nainggolan and he doesn't score a worldy per game he'll be branded a flop, just because of the hefty pricetag.

That's sensible Dan and different to what I mean. If people think the cheaper player is better for us, the price is still irrelevant; it's who you think is better and I agree with you.

Like you said with Ramirez, it's those blaming the fee that get me.

It annoys me as well that people keep on hassling Gaston about his price tag....he didn't get the money. He's a classy player who has more to give. The fact that he is our biggest buy (yet) suggests that the rest of the team are bargains and, I bet, Gaston will look like a bargain over the next few seasons.

You can't blame Ramirez for costing £12m either. He didn't decide his own pricetag!

Couple of things. I do like Nainggolan a lot, but like Mikey I don't really see where he would fit. Don't think he is solid enough defensively to play in the DM role or good enough going forward to be the creative AM to open up a defence. Could be that we are looking to change the system slightly and play with just one DM, one slightly further forward then the 3 behind a striker?

Talking about fees, whilst I agree that it is not the players fault a club pays x amount for him, I can see why fans get annoyed at an expensive signing not being awesome straight away. The main thing is that if the £12 mil we spent on Gaston was the last of our budget then you could make an argument for investing it in a different position(s). Similarly with this rumour if £15 mil is a large chunk of our transfer budget this summer then I'm not too comfortable spending it on a CM when I think it is 3/4th in the list of priorities.

Lastly I really don't think we have much of a chance signing Wanyama. Think he will want to move to a Champs League team (or a team like Spurs/Liverpool who could sell him the idea of challenging for top four next year). So don't think its a straight choice between Wanyama and Nainggolan.

I live in the north west and the radio is reporting that billy sharp has agreed to go on loan to Accrington Stanley...Surely he is too good for them. Not sure how accurate the story is though.

He tweeted that he had signed on loan with a picture of him and Beattie...in a bar. Everyone fell for it.

I think that's just him not wanting to doubt Cortese's ambition rather than it being based on any serious information. It won't happen.
