Truely on of the worlds nice guys and an exellent bass player, RIP and thanks for the music man. Condolences to his family and loved ones.
I went to school with his brother Andy and I just found out he passed this year as well, very sad news indeed
Quite a nice piece in the mail for those that haven't seen it. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....e-s-Spiders/story-19054991-detail/story.html?
Now is maybe the time for the council to consider knocking down that shambles of memorial stage for Mick Ronson and put up a decent replacement to honour all 3 musicians for there part in pop history, I still don't think people realise Mick's contribution to pop on the production side of things, all in all 3 talented guys helping to shape one of pop's more iconic and durable stars. R.I.P.
kirkella tiger you may have seen him at hulls ice rink. his son plays ice hockey there or did a while ago. seen him there many times.
Trevor was a City fan, he was a Premier Club member for the first five years at the KC, but touring limited the games he could get to, so he switched to sitting in the Upper West.
This is really sad news, I knew Ronno pretty well but never met Trevor but his playing was outstanding.
He featured on the Bowie prog on BBC2 tonight. Charles Shaar Murray speaking about Ronson made the very good point that he was the only musician whoever shared the spotlight and stage as an equal with Bowie, all his other musicians were just backing players.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...95/David-Bowie-Five-Years-BBC-Two-review.html Final paragraph. Arf!
Having spoken to Ronno after the Bowie era, I lost all respect for him (Bowie) he took all the cash and all the credit for the music. All of the arrangement for his first big hit were done by Ronno, not to mention those great guitar riffs. The Ziggy album stands out for memorable riffs, all composed and fantastically played by Mick.
Piss poor journalism... He's MichaelPDeacon on twitter. I am very tempted to have a pop...what a complete tosser
I've had a mild go at him but I don't expect a reply. One of my journalism colleagues told me that when he was at the Telegraph they even looked down on northern journalists working for the paper let alone northerners. I'm sure that was an apocryphal story...Deacon was just reaching for easy and lazy stereotypes! He's normally a better writer than that. We'll be doing one or two of the Bowie/Ziggy numbers on the 8th June at The National - and we'll be dedicating them to Trevor! Though I hope he isn't looking down and watching me play his bass lines note for note - he'll be having a laugh at that! Hope you can still make it mate?
