I think in races he's still got quite a bit to prove until he is considered to be up there with Alonso and co but if he continues as he is then Hamilton's reputation is going to take a serious knocking.

That's not how I see it. Clearly Lewis's arrival at Mercedes has been good for Nico; and I remember how people sneered when Ross Brawn said he had the strongest driver line-up back in the pre-season... <whistle>

Rosberg is getting a very good cv, just needs to get it going in the race more.

Yeah, he's always on the cusp. I had started to think it wasn't going to happen for him, maybe he was too nice and lacked the killer instinct. I hope he does succeed.

Awkward interruption of a Hamilton Sutil chat on the parade lorry. They seemed happy enough for those looking for gossip :p

Now if Mercedes suddenly make a big leap in their race pace today...

It's either Rosberg is severely underrated, or Hamilton is massively overrated.

Or maybe a bit of both.

Red Bull have launched an official complaint against the Mercedes-Pirelli-Test. It'll be dealt with post-race, but presumably means there's a chance both Mercs could be thrown out of the classifications? Who knows?

It's all very sour and ironic too given Red Bull's persistent pushing for Pirelli to do something about the tyres. My guess is they'll want to do a similar test themselves.

I don't think the race result will be changed as they've not done anything wrong this race weekend. There may be long term consequences but its all a bit complicated as they have FIA approval?

As long as Hamilton doesn't win today i'm happy.

Would like a Kimi win, but can't see it happening. Alonso worth a bet as always.

Nico has always seemed to me to be a driver that's fast on an empty track.

As to the Mercedes test, I'm not surprised the are complianing (it's not just Red Bull, which is, as usual, being intimated here), I wouldn't be too happy if I was one of the other teams either, it's a pretty blatant breaking of the agreed rules, no testing in current cars, I'm surprised at the naive stupidity of the FIA and Mercedes in going ahead with it, now they MUST let all the others have the same

Why is Chilton behind Massa? Both have gearbox penalties but Chilton actually set a time! RBR should protest about Ferrari <laugh>
