Cracking CL final btw..well done those on Munich...huge punt on them during the week just comes off.

Two great sets of loud fans and two talented mangers albeit heading in different directions.

We palyede Schalke last year and they were noisy...we were officially the noisiest fans in Europe last last year but got beaten.

I think as a rule of thumb, aside from the great sides just mentioned,is that the ****tier the football your team plays the more time you have to amuse yourself and make noise on the terraces...Stoke and West Ham spring to mind!!

Liverpool as well tbf...sorry Red!..Never a peep at OT but not sure if thats down to the quality of football or the fact that no bugger speaks English...!

Why is that Bob? I think one could easily make a case for Muriel or Snow Queen. Haven't looked at the others.

............ and that could put Viztoria in with an excellent chance. J don't think that race is cut and dried by any means.

Very well done to Carl Froch.

Therr was a time I thought "Who the **** are you calling out Joe Calzaghe?". The last 4 or 5 years have backed up Froch and his insistence that he was up to that level. Be has never ducked a person and he has been one of the most exciting fighters we have had in the last ten years. A true warrior and now I think we all realise that it was simply bad timing that stopped Joe and Carl clashing.

Joe was fighting the American names just as Carl really broke through, so Froch was a low money, tough fight and no win situation for Calzaghe until Froch became a world champion, so old father time stopped that one.

Froch has improved and fought some amazing tactical fights now against Abraham, Bute, and Kessler. A fantastic fighter but just short of p4p class- Andre Ward has the incredible speed.

Not bad Bob, but not one of my favourites. Erdinger, Weihenstephan (Germany's oldest brewery - founded in 1040 <yikes>) and Franziskaner are 3 of the bigger breweries that I like. There are loads of smaller breweries in Bavaria though and they produce some marvellous wheat beers - Unertl is probably the best I've ever tasted.

Good shout on the boxing Toppy. Agree about everything you said about Carl Froch, another worldclass British boxer and is pure quality throughout. Unlike that moronic Tyson Fury...will some one decent get into the ring with him and just hurt him badly...<laugh>

Learnt something, had no idea Weihenstephan was a brewery! Thought it was a milk/dairy product outfit! You are absolutely right on the wheat beer brands; Erdinger and Franziskaner being the most popular by far down here. I drink the stuff rarely, Bostonbob, as I prefer a Helles (ale/lager, whatever you like to call it), but Weissbier drinkers are totally devoted and just about never drink anything else!
