Didn't see Rosberg outqualifying Hamilton again.

This sucks. Massa and Bianchi miss oppurtunities to shine and the one driver Alonso definitely can't beat on strategy is 0.002 faster. Hopefully Vettel will get stuck behind the Mercedes and destroy his tyres, forcing him into a two stop. That's the only way Alonso can beat Vettel and he hinted in his interview that he might do that.

Probably only cost 2 or 3 places, but it's worrying to see that McLaren had another fuel pump failure today. I remember them talking about how rare that was after Button broke down in Monza last year, but it's happened 4 times now since then.

I didn't think Hamilton would get that close to rosberg, thought it would end ros ham web, almost right :)

The real surprises for me were JEV and VDG (maybe I need to get down the clap clinic). Seriously though, well done to both and otherwise there was little in the way of surprise. Shame about Maldo though; really thought he could get into the top ten.

van der Garde is in a very strong position, he has Grosjean right in front of him who will happy clear at least 8 cars out of the race at at the start :)

I think Webber will win the race with the two Mercedes' on the podium.

<laugh> I'd like to see him and JEV get a result tomorrow but the prospect of Romain carnage at Monaco isn't a pretty thought: let's hope he has satisfied his destructive tendencies during practice.

Although this wouldn't be my ideal result, I wouldn't be unhappy with it either. But where do you figure Vettel ends up in this scenario?

4th or 5th. I think Webber is the faster driver in Monaco and he'll jump him in the pits. I could be wrong and he'll win the race or finish on the podium but I have a feeling Webber will win.

    I can't believe nobody's picked up on EJ's comments post-quali, on JB's quali performance:

"Jenson looks like he really needs an injection of speed"

I think Webber will end up 6th after turn one. Then pit first and force everyone onto a 2 stop except Kimi and Kimi will go on and win with Rosberg and a Red Bull behind him

What do you call it when the cars are on the grid and then the lights go out? ;)

I'm expecting the Mercs to play train tomorrow, perhaps put rosberg on a two stop and use Hamilton as a buffer on a one stop slowing them all down behind? (Unless Hamilton can get the jump at the start or either of them drops back)

Well that's how I'd play it. I think we'll have a race for the 200-odd metres to the first corner, then the second Mercedes (in all probability Hamilton) will be asked to let Rosberg build a gap. I think our only real hope of a race is if Hamilton gets a poor start, but by his own admission Mercedes have had great starts so far this season.

Usually the guy in second is looking behind rather than forward. The run down to the first corner isn't really long enough to pull off an overtake round the outside into St Devote. Rosberg will lead the first stint.

I'm very impressed with Britney and I love his attitude, he was so calm and modest during his BBC interview.

On the topic of Britney, is it now time for us to accept that he's in that upper echelon of drivers alongside Vettel, Hamilton and Alonso? Hamilton's quali pace has always been a strength, but he's getting his derriere handed to him by Nico at the moment.

Let's see if he can maintain this pace throughout the season first.
