    Nice quote from the BBC text commentary on the test match at Headingly:

    "A large-lunged wag on the Western blows up a long, sausage-shaped balloon and releases it to slalom noisily through the air to boozy cheers from his fellow patrons."

    <laugh>

    Don't know why, but I can imagine Dex appreciating that

    Having a small bet on 5.30 Curragh Measured Approval 22/1 (45s on exchanges). There is no doubt in my mind he's talented enough to win on his current mark and young Ian Queally takes a further 10lb off his back. Very competitive contest but 22s is definitely more than a fair price.

    <cheers> Swanny, yes brown label. Going down great guns. Got some filet steak, new potatoes and Beelitzer asparagus for dinner, followed by fresh strawberries and then the match. Been down the local market today - all local, fresh produce <ok>

    Hopefully Tick Tocker can win again here, remember my favourite Empiracle snashing him on debut

    Oddy: I have found out that because I have always detested asparagus, I am classified as 'peculiar' <laugh>. My mate here, says, 'who ever heard of anybody who doesn't like Spargel'. My family, like most in this country, often have asparagus feasts at this time of year; I have to go in another room and have a ham and cheese sandwich, or something!!

    (Oh, but the rest of the dinner sounds just great!).

    What the **** has Michael Scudamore done to Fromthetop. The fact he was that poor off a mark of 77 given his P2P form is absolutely ridiculous.

    That sounds good Oddy. Trouble is, now I'm not going to be very happy with whatever I've got tonight.

    I think stick mentioned it earlier but Kessler is a massive price tonight and iv stuck him on also taking advantage of bet365s champs league offer with 50 on Dortmund and using the free bet in play on the draw. Dortmund have a good record vs bayern and see them beating them

    Been catching up on the days racing as I had to play golf this afternoon. How unlucky was SWISS SPIRIT in the big race. Badly hampered leaving the stalls and lost many lengths but lost it by inches at the death. Buick really rates this sprinter and he is certainto pick up a decent prize this season!

    Lads, Froch by split decision (12/1) or majority decision (25/1) look very interesting bets. a) it leaves open the possibility of a 3rd fight. b) a narrow Froch win and Kessler retirement leaves Froch on course for a big money raiser with Ward in the UK.

    The fight will be seriously close. Froch isn't fast enough to win the fight clearly, and Kessler punches in straight lines. It will be very close for my money therefore I've played the two decisions- split & majority in Frochs favour.

    A Kessler points win does no one any favours in terms of $$$ (Kessler is rumoured to retire after tonight)

    Backed Bayern earlier so feeling like that's pretty lucky money which leads me to... Froch by KO or TKO is 2-1. Fill your boots, Mario's too old to take the Cobra's onslaught in my view...Proper fight.
