Used to play darts quite a bit, played for suffolk under 18's in the late 80's when we won the national league, beating Essex who had Wayne Mardle, Colin Lloyd and a few others on the way! Played in the Diss super 6's for a few years if anybody can remember that for Eye Queens Head. Only play now and again now when my nephews team is short, but its a good laugh.
I've been playing lawn bowls now for 15 years. Current reigning singles champion at my club. Also do a lot of amatuer dramatics. Just finished a week long run of Oliver and mow have a month or so break before panto season starts.
Weight Training, I used to do cardio but running and cycling is a bit too repetitive so I've done solely weight for the past few years, I always find you need to mix things up in the gym so I soon plan to take up boxing as my cardio training. I also study a lot about training and nutrition to, it's boring and there is a ton of duff information out there, but it go's a long way to help. If anyone ever wants to lose a few pounds or gain some muscle give me a shout, I'll save you from hours of bullshit. I DJ house music too in my spare time and I make music on a programme called Logic Pro along with various bits of hardware like midi keyboards, you could also call this studying sound engineering. Art, I've got back into drawing in recent years or a better word would be sketching. I would love to design nightclubs, bars, pubs, restaurants and casino's I think the leisure sector in this country can be diabolical because the places look like an absolute shambles, I have a lot of big ideas and would love to get into this line of work as I'm very confident I could make a difference. Of course as you've guessed I love to socialise to and go out drinking like every other regular person.
It's good that this board brings all sorts. Having two children under three rather limits my leisure time but I do sing in a choir and in the past have enjoyed caving, mine exploration, climbing and walking. Used to be in a film society and book group too. Now my social life tends to revolve around my children.
Yeah it is my local one Maestro and yes Jackie co-directed Oliver and is directing Oklahoma next year...
Give her my regards when you next see her please. She used to book me to play trombone for some of the shows over there
Agree that this is a top thread. Nice to see some different facets to some of the people who's posts I've been reading here over the months. For me, wargaming is the hobby I've come back to in middle-age. Toy soldiers for grown-ups basically. Plus it's a lot more acceptable being a nerd nowadays.
Both mate. When I lived in Sheringham, I would be booked for the Cromer lot on the pier, then Jackie would be book me for the Fakenham one
Does looking after 3 kids under 8 count as a pastime, or a chore? My real passion is cycling, both participating (just going out on the bike for a few miles nowadays) and watching (massive tour de France fan since Stephen roche won in 87). Would one day like to push the boat out and buy a proper road bike, that might have to wait until the kids grow up Enjoy the odd real ale and red wine too
Top thread this, Non football wise for me it is cricket playing and watching, late 80's early 90's indie music and single malt whiskey. Oh and the odd pint or six of real ale.
Max, if you do end up getting a road bike, I would highly recommend the Trek 1.1 - excellent starter road bike.
Thanks jk, seems like you can spend anything between £500 and ten grand on them. A trek or Chris board man would be good, although by the time I get round to it, it'll be a mark cavendish or sir Bradley bike!
