    Bruce, Mackay and either Zola/Holloway?

You've got to back Bruce, not just because he's our manager, just look at his experience an CV for keeping teams in the Premier League. It won't be easy, but I'd much rather he was in charge here than any of the others.

But Cardiff have a better team than us at the moment.

All of which is academic, because when we last went up in 2008 everyone thought WBA would be better than either us or Stoke and in the end, only they were relegated of the 3.

Agreed, but I would guess both teams will be very different come the start of the season. I genuinely think we'd have given Cardiff a proper run for first had we secured a 'Proper' striker, and not had to temporary fix with Boyd/Gedo etc.

I know I'd rather have Bruce in the dug out than any of the others.

I hate threads like this, and I think since we got promoted Bruce's abilities have really been over-exaggerated.

He's a good manager don't get me wrong but we have no idea how we'll perform next year at the moment.

Definitely, not just since we got promoted either.

He comes in and in his first season with a bunch of injuries to key players and no recognised striker he gets us promoted.
Oh I totally agree his abilities have been exaggerated...couple of knobs.

I personally think the days of more old school managers like Bruce (and others) are numbered, but he did a great job and got us up, and I think he'll keep us up next year.

We finished 8th last season, and he spent over £6 million to get us promoted, it's not like he's worked on a shoestring with a team that finished bottom of the league.

Bruce has done a good job here no doubt about it, but someone said don't rule out Huddlestone coming here to play under Steve Bruce. That just isn't going to happen.

No one's arguing he hasn't done a brilliant job. It's just that people seem to think we're going to sign quality players ahead of top clubs just because Steve Bruce is the manager, and that we'll comfortably stay up just because we've got a good manager. He can only do so much...

Yes, however, my point was how will we fair - not we're going to sign Huddlestone or Bent. If we finish 3rd bottom and the other two promoted teams finish below us we'll have done better.

I think because Bruce has spent a long time keeping teams in the Premier league - he managed to finish 11th with Wigan. Then regardless of who we sign, our chances are enhanced.

PS If you don't like threads like this, then don't ****ing contribute to them.

We get one every other day ****ing over how good Steve Bruce is.

We don't even know who the three promoted clubs will be yet, so how can we tell who will fare best from the three clubs?

It's a bit early, nobody's signed anyone yet, we have no idea what any of the teams will actually look like by the start of the season.

The only thing that's for sure, is they won't look like they do now.

IMO, both Hull and Cardiff will stay up next season so it does not matter to me who is the higher placed team other than what it will mean in terms of the Merit Cash Award. To think that next season bottom PL team gets what Man City got for winning the PL in 2011/12.

For sure if Steve Bruce had had either Aluko or Fryatt or even both fit for the season then we would have won the championship without a doubt.

Bruce got your team promoted to the Premier league and you still aren't happy. Wow he spent 6 m doing it. How much did Pearson spend at Leicester. Didn't notice them getting promoted.
Don't know what some people want.

I don't know - call me Sherlock Holmes but we know 2 of the 3 promoted clubs and we can narrow the third down to one of two. I think that gives a reasonable idea of who'll be up.

I know the players that take to the pitch will be different. That's all part of the 'Managers' job, which is why the question was posed around which 'Manager' would fair the best.

I don't see loads of threads about people '****ing' over Bruce?

In terms of his resources to get automatic promotion £6m (as quoted above) is chicken feed. Has Bruce done a good job? He certainly has and as long as he remains in charge he will go on to be our most successful manager ever.

I've never ****ed over Steve Bruce, but I did once shake his hand and I think he's done a wonderful job.

I'm very much onside with Mr Bruce.

When did I say I wasn't happy? Go on, find a quote from me, I dare you.

What Leicester have got to do with it I'm not quite sure either.

I have no doubt at all you started this thread for another 'Bruce is great' fest. His draw towards new players is mentioned several times a day, it may be true for Meyler or Figueroa who've worked with him before but I'm not sure his pull will be any greater than any other elite manager, Zola in particular's will be towards players.

I've never had the pleasure, but I agree he's done a very good job here.

So you read minds too? What's your next trick balancing a ball on your nose?

Still contributing to a thread you don't like! <ok>

As you say I'm biased too. But of the 3 I'm glad we've got Steve Bruce.
Don't get the negativity, of course we don't know what our side is but he's vastly more experienced than the others.

The onlyone who is going over the top about Bruce's pulling power etc is tickles, as he posts constantly maybe it's starting to irritate.

We'll be able to answer this question with more accuracy in August before the season starts.
