Don't understand why we didn't just let this ****er go to Eritrea (was it for a 'wedding', by any chance?) then just never let the **** back in. Fair play if they want to go to that ****hole they call 'their' country and fight for it, and I'm sick of seeing our young lads going over there to build roads, schools and hospitals that the Taliban will blow up as soon as we leave. Read in article in the Times a few months back about the Afghan police/army that we're propping up. Kidnap young boys and use them as sex slaves, sell their arms for drugs and pay the Taliban not to attack them. Ffs, this country hasn't changed since the 1840's 9if you get a chance read Flashman - fiction, but the history is sound). the Duke of Wellington said after the 1841 retreat that we should sacrifice no more British soldiers to civilise a country that doesn't want civilisation. (1) What a ****ing waste this decade of nonsense has been in terms of lives. just get out, let anyone who wants to defend 'their' country go there, but don't let them back in. 1. Actually said that it wasn't worth the effort to force Adam Smith on them
For once, I agree with you! The guy who spoke on camera sounded like he was from the UK not Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan. Whilst I don't condone the killing of innocents, this was an act of cold blooded murder, no excuse, nothing to hide behind just cold blooded murder!
Yes yes it's definitely the governments fault that two psychos got in a car and mowed down a serviceman and started hacking him to death.
I havent expressed an opinion on this in any media yet. Because I dont know what the **** to think. A couple of guys have hit someone with a car and then got out and hacked him to pieces. All this in broad daylight. Then they waited for the police to turn up with the intent (I guess) of charging them and going out in a blaize of glory. I just cant comprehend watching the guy talk on camera with blood on his hands. Is this the way the world is headed? Is this a one off? or is it just the first? Just shocked! Glad the killers are alive and the lineage of their corruption can be potentially traced. These lads werent born killers, they have been heavily influenced to do the dirty work of someone who doesnt have the balls to make the statment themselves. RIP Lee Rigby, I hope some good can come out of your death, but I fear this is all part of the fall of our country into a dysfunctional state caught between history, political correctness and free speech. The world is failing financially and becoming more feudal year on year. Population grows and resources diminish. In my eyes the world has three hopes: 1. King Arthur returns as a selfless socialist dictator, giving the whole world what is best rather then what each individual thinks he wants 2. Snoop Lion Achieves world peace through Cannabis 3. Fergie becomes head of the UN and forces the world into submission with the hairdryer and influencing referees
Sounds like he is totally confused or stupid to me if the following two statements from the tape are true I apologise that women had to witness this today but in our lands our women have to see the same No, it’s going to be the average guy like you, and your children. So get rid of them. Tell them to bring our troops back so we, so you can all live in peace.” he needs to make up his mind who WE are.
http://stopwar.org.uk/index.php/usa...he-terrorism-the-us-inflicts-abroad-every-day A good article by Noam Chomsky on the not entirely unrelated Boston marathon bombings. Think it was Chomsky but it could have been Benedict Anderson who called these kinds of retaliatory attacks on the western mainland inevitable collateral, or some phrase like that. It's a disgusting thing that happened in Woolwich but no more disgusting than what goes on from the opposite direction in the middle east and other areas, it's just the media, protecting US/UK interests, never devotes whole channels to that.
The issue isn't religion, per say; it's radicalisation. Extreme strands of Islam (and other ideologies religious or otherwise) can attach themselves to the easily-converted, the vulnerable and the weak. The angry and the discontented. What needs to change is culture. If you live in Britain, the pinnacle of law for you must be the law of the State. Killing for your religion (or your radical view of it) is always a crime, regardless of whatever religious law you feel applies to you. Of course, the majority accept this.
The thing is, that in the eyes of those who carried out this heinous act, it wasn't murder at all. They see it as the killing of an enemy combatant, these radicals believe they are in a war & WE are the enemy. They carried out the killing & then waited for the Police to arrive, encouraging bystanders to film them describing their thoughts. This was not the acts of psychopaths, it was the acts of seriously misguided individuals who felt like they were doing their bit for the Jihad, by striking fear into the heart of our Nation. The muslim community has to start acting by exposing those who are being radicalised & those who are still preaching it. A few empty words isn't enough to placate the rest of our society any more, it's time they showed us that they stand with us in the fight against these deluded religious fanatics & until they do, then they can't act with indignation when the wider muslim community is treated with distrust.
This is just the latest and most media covered in the series titled "I hate you, you hate me..." Pogroms and atrocities have been perpetrated since before records began, for tribal, religious and nationalistic reasons. These two prats claim a jihad or holy war and are completely ignorant regarding what that entails. Basically, it is not possible to carry out jihad outside of a land considered Islamic, and to the best of my knowledge, the UK has NEVER been an Islamic country. The wretched excuse they've used is no defence to murder. They would have been far better advised to work with a charity to improve the lives of islamic families abroad - if everyone feeling strongly did this, there would be a huge number of people doing good works abroad. And they would get to see the oppression these families suffer, at the hand of both the UN/US led forces and by the various dictators/religious nutters, they might not think so badly of the average soldier. Mind you, most radicalised nut-jobs seem to simply want their 15 minutes of fame...
Absolutely. Above all else, it was a racist killing no different, in most respects, to Stephen Lawrence's. Whether you kill someone for being part of a religion, or kill them for not being part of a religion, it's two sides to the same coin. Had two white, Christian maniacs did that to a 25 year-old Muslim who had fought in Dafur or Bosnia there would be international uproar.
I agree, albeit the driver for this act was religious radicalism as opposed to just plain race hate, as these radicals do genuinely believe that they're fighting an enemy here. Having said that, would they have carried out the same random killing at that point had the soldier they stumbled across had been black?
We can't stop those not of our country hating us & attacking us (justified or not) other than go to war with the state they abide in if it sponsored them or by catching them as individuals before, during or after the attempt. Homegrown is another issue. I'm not really a death penalty kind of guy, simply because our system has been proven to be flawed. Mistakes happen. But in this type of circumstance I do wish for it. We are for the large part a free & democratic society. You are allowed to express your political, religious & sexual preferences. You are allowed to attempt to change the societal morals by voting at all levels of government. Is it perfect? Far from it. But then you are allowed in this state to be politically active to improve the state no matter how difficult a task that may be. if you get corrupted on the way; thats your fault. We have bent over backwards to allow freedom of movement in & out of the country & have enshrined in law the protection of cultural diversity & equality. There should be a price to this freedom. The other side of the contract. You don't attempt to kill or injure others(especially those paid to protect you) in your state in an attempt to change it. That is treason: you should hang. Harsh? Maybe but you have multiple choices before you reached the decision to destroy your surroundings and fellow human beings. Political Or Religious Activism Or Choosing another country in the world that better suits your political, religious or moral outlook on life. That's not a BNP "go back where you came from" because if you live here legally you are from here no matter colour creed etc. It's more a we now live in a truly global environment, there are countries that will fit you better; go. If you still feel as anti us living in THAT country encourage it to go to war to stop us: if you succeed we'll be gone. So, if you choose treason: hang for it whe caught.
Unfortunately, whilst I totally agree with the sentiment, in the case of these fundamentalists, it'd merely turn them into martyrs & would act as no deterrent imo. It would merely provide us with retribution & pour further fuel on the fire, creating more radicals & exacerbating the issue. This needs to be tackled before it gets to the point of action i.e. those who are 'studying' this philosophy & listening to the 'teachings' that perpetuate it, need to be got to before they get chance to commit an act of terror & those peddling this doctrine of hatred need to be rounded up & shipped off. **** their 'human rights', **** having to spend £M's & wait years for these skid marks on the pan of life, to try & worm their way around our legal system. Create a new law, that is a cover all, outside of the normal legal framework, class the spreading of this doctrine & those who follow it, as an Act of War.
In this case, there is a good case for a hanging - its not like they can argue mistaken identity or miscarriage of justice. 100% certain they did it and from the arguments put forward, the balance of their minds was not disturbed. Done with malace of forethought. Against this, of course, is the desire to deny them their 40 virgins (or however many they think they'll get as 'martyrs') and the want to remove them as poster boys for the 'jihad'... Let them rot in a Maximum Security prison with minimal freedoms...
Regrettably can't ship off the peddlars of hate, as those born abroad might get tortured or denied a fair trial when they get home (allegedly). This Amnesty Intl would spend £££ trying to circumvent the new laws, and we know that badly made laws are often open to unexpected uses...
With the specifics of indigenous religious terrorists it may indeed make them a martyr but it removes them from the equation. It's amazing the difference psychologically of YOU choosing to hit the detonator on the vest and you standing waiting for the man in the black hood pulling the lever on the trap door. A suicide vest sounds a lot more heroic when telling it to young idiots than dangling pissing & ****ting yourself. This is why I prefer this option to creating "exceptions" laws relating to your rights to trial, deportation etc. I want our country to continue having the protection of freedoms they (terrorists) wish to remove. I mean look what internment did over here! It's counter productive & playing into their hands even though they can use those freedoms against us. As unpalatable as it is; I'll suffer a man standing on the street corner calling our country (his) a sewer with murderers as soldiers. I'll dislike him intensely & heckle him as is also my right to freedom of speech. Actively encouraging others to physical treasonous action should be met with a trial & jail when convicted. Obviously this is only regarding people who have citizenship. Those that don't can have one hearing then out they go. If we have to withdraw from the EBofHR to fast track that process & not care what action their country of origin takes on return then so be it. And this is different from asylum seekers. If an asylum seeker obeys our laws then they get the full human rights of our citizenship. Its complex but I don't think it's as complex as politicians endeavor to make it. As a finish to my ramblings: I loved a Muslim guy on five live yesterday who said (paraphrasing): Not in the name of Islam. They don't represent our faith or our country because that's what the UK is, our country. Give me the same help for heroes t-shirt our soldier was wearing & I will wear it every week to prayers at my mosque. They don't & never will speak for me.
