Still if any of these transfers come off, it's a good idea that they can all speak the same languages and converse with at least two of our current team.
It will mean the communication throughout the team won't be lost and help settle them into the club, area & the league.

 

I was also a little worried when he said that Cabeye was great last season but not so great this season. So i had a look at his stats -

09/10 -

11 goals and 15 assists

10/11

4 goals and 9 assists

Makes me a little bit anxious about him.

tbh if Cabeye has that sort of record in a weaker league than the prem he's not going to be any better than Barton or Nolan who have better records ?? but still for 4.5 mill i'm not going to complain he could grow into a great player

 

Yes but he got triple the amount of goals and nearly double the amount of assists in the season before. Me thinks he has an injury problems or he just lost form.

Yes but we all know Barton has created far more than that for the team. He just got the 2nd last touch only around 9 times. He's created far more than 9 goals mate, that could be the same for Cabeye but we don't know.

 

this could be true we seem to have a habit of buying tainted goods (gosling and ireland) but still his 09 record isn't much better than Nolan this season? but he looks like a suitable replacement if he stays fit with Nolan starting to get on a bit

Hmmm, I see what you mean, but with Gervinho and Hazard on the wings it would make more sense that the ball would be played out wide for them to then whip in crosses (this is just a supposition, I don't watch Lille). But the ball has to get worked out to them in the first place. Perhaps he's been involved in a lot of build up, without providing the final pass?

Nice one Tash man. Great getting information on players from those in the know!
Was never really that fussed on Sow. We've never been properly linked with him anyway.
Gervinho is the ultimate dream really. But it aint going to happen unfortunately. We've got the money, but we're just not big enough to attract that kind of player.
Cabaye information is interesting, but as JWAG said - Hazard and Gervinho have been bossing goals and assists this season, Cabaye could easily have been involved in the link up to them. He still seems a decent player though, and at a decent age of 25 he's got plenty of time to become an excellent player. 4.4m isn't a lot either!

haha yeah. I do feel for them. They're set to lose Hazard, Gervinho AND Cabaye.

Sow i'm not particularly bothered with. If we get him fine I won't complain but we've been linked with better players.

Gervinho would be brilliant but I am not too hopeful about getting him. I just think a team with champions league football will beat us to him.

Cabaye sounds like a good acquisition too. May or may not be as good as Barton but at the price being quoted I think we should trust in Carr and get him signed up. He could be our "Tiote" bargain of the season.
