...Last night, finally saw football win. After months of alleged undhand deals by FIFA, managers criticising officials for there teams obvious short comings, etc. It was fantastic to see a team not only show how the game should be played, but they did it with a smile on there faces as well. All i've heard in the British media, whether it was on the radio, on the TV or in the papers was how Ferguson was going to master Barca. How it was his destiny to win old jug ears again, how his average team was going to beat one of the finest teams of all time. In short not one person gave Barcelona any credit for what they are...The best club side on the planet by a mile. Barcelona laid bear United's weaknesses, not even the obligatory hand from the ref coud save them. There average midfield was over run, by pace, movement and guile. Rooney aside from the goal, gave a world cup performance. But to be honest could any side have done better? I'm glad Barcelona won, not because i'm a Liverpool fan..But beacause i'm a football fan and last night that's what won.
I thought it was a bit cruel of Fergie to send Scholes on just to end his career as a loser. Going up those loser stairs to collect his loser medal with the rest of the losers. So sad. Fergie's fists quietly pumping was the shot of the night. A Bafta for that director. Masch dedicated the win to Liverpool fans, too, as an apology for the way he left.
Barcelona did to United what all good teams should do.They swarmed all over their midfield.Lucas and a half fit Steven Gerrard did it to them at Anfield.Let United play football and you're on a hiding to nothing. However strangle the living daylights out of their central midfield and they are less use than a chocolate tea-pot. Fergie was right ''Big clubs win the European Cup 4 times....Even bigger clubs win it 5 times''.
