don't see city going into next season with dudgeon as our only left back , he has had some very dodgy moments defensively but good going forward , I just worry that he could get exposed a lot in the premier league which is why I reckon we could be in for Figueroa who can operate in a number of positions

Then you obviously and uselessly only remember the last half of this season. Dudgeon was one of our star players before he got injured. He's a cracking player and a good option to compete with Robbie Brady OR even play with him in a 4-4-2.

Dudge didn't play the last half of the season? He played the first quarter before his dodgy knee ruled him out for the rest. I like dudge and think he will make a good player but there were times both this season and last season he looked suspect. To me he is still unproven at championship level and there's no way I'd go an entire premier league campaign with him as our only left back.

What happens if we get to mid September, he's had rings run round him and been at fault for a few goals then his dodgy knee kicks in and e's out again leaving us with no left back til January?

I think that was his point, that Dudge only played in the first half and therefore he didn't see him play. I may be mistaken though.

Dudgeon has only managed to feature in a third of our league games since he joined us and as Bullshit says, he's barely tested in the Championship, never mind the Premier League.

Suggestions that the left back position is covered with Rosie, McShane or Townsend as back-up are ridiculous.

We will almost certainly bring in someone else who can play left back and I expect that Figueroa probably tops the list.

I think most of us are getting desperate for City to start signing player.
Need to see them active in the Transfer Market.

    edit: but not Titus Bramble.....

People need to calm down and at least wait for the transfer window to open!

Nor I. Liverpool and Rodgers are now saying that they may let Suarez go IF they get the right offer for him. Yes they took a hit on Andy Carroll but will make that up by selling Suarez for stupid money.

£6m plus wages for Bent is then well within Liverpools means. But i think that WBA could well run them close for his signature. Liverpool are in the Europa League via the Fair Play system Uefa have. Question is will Liverpool take that option up. ??

I agree - Well said. Joe Dudgeon was on fire upto his knee injury. The PL will suit Dudg imo.

You got the Figueroa bit correct but you must do better on the rest.

He was on fire going forward, not being far behind the quality of Brady at times, but tracking back and defending, he hasn't proven himself.

Don't know if you can shed some light on this OLM (or anyone else) as you mentioned being a little bit out of the loop. but what kind of summer transfer activity do you expect us to have?

Is it gonna be lots of rumours until a week before the window closes where we make all sorts of crazy purchases.

Is it going to be spaced out evenly, a signing every now and then.

Or are we gonna try and get it all done ASAP.

I'm sure what I'm asking is pretty much impossible to predict but I wonder what Bruce is hoping for. Snap em quick or take your time and try and get them as cheap as possible.

Just guessing, but I think we'll try and do business early, but as is usually the way with these things, it will probably take far longer than we want it to.

I agree on the tracking back bit to a certain degree but that is something that can be worked on. It is not a though Dudg lacks pace to get back. Something for him to work on though.

I would guess that Steve Bruce he will want as many deals done and dusted prior to pre-season. But with the nature of the business and agents tactics some may take longer. It will be interesting to see IF Hull City are also playing any part in Transfer Deadline Day. Jim White and Bryn Law on ssn etc etc. Always a fun watch.

He'd be a hell of a punt, he's only ever played in Nigeria and Israel.
