I mentioned several weeks back that Jack Munns was destined to be released by the club. That has now happened and he has now left.

I bring news of another player who has been released. Our young full back Jack Barthram has now left the club.

Shame, he's too slow to be a Premier League fullback but he's a competant little player from the little that I've seen of him.

Both confirmed

After 11 great years at Spurs my apprenticeship is done, many thanks to the club and fans for all your support, a new challenge awaits #COYS

End of an Era for me, couldn't have had a better 9 years, good luck to all the lads, been a pleasure to play with! pic.twitter.com/QUjZMB7Ebz

Sorry for the lack of activity from me chaps.

My new job unfortunately means I'm away from a PC all day now, so it'll be evenings and weekends. No doubt SOS will do a grand job filling everyone in with the gossip in my absence<ok>

Good luck to both of those youngsters. They both seemed to have a fair bit of talent, from the little I've seen of them, especially the diminutive Munns.
Hope we get to see them again in the future, though not in the coming back to haunt us sense.

Apparently Monaco are paying Porto 70mill for Rodriguez and moutinho. But in the agreement, moutinho is apparently only costing 1mill, just so Porto don't have to pay sporting Lisbon a 25% sell on fee!!

It is probable it will remain unconfirmed for a few weeks. His contract is up on 30 June, so expect an announcement closer to that date.

Cheers Spurcat. <ok>

Strange to say, it will feel like progress when it is announced.

Marc Muniesa's contract at Barca runs out in a month. Worth a punt?

He can play both centre back and left back, and it will make me some kind of clairvoyant as I always sign him on FM as Benny's medium-term replacement.

I wouldn't sign any of the Barca defenders, let alone the rejects. The whole lot of them are essentially there to make up the number while 3/4 players tear the opposition to pieces. Barca have been known to play two spare midfielders at centre-back, such is there lack of trust in defenders/the art of defending.

Just read the link of the double swoop for Da-meow and Soldado, £36m combined fee. If Levy pulls it off and pulls it off early, what a result! :D

But that won't happen... :(

If this were Football Manager i'd be delighted with that... but two strikers in a new league is a hell of a risk in my opinion. Would rather replace one of them with Michu/Benteke, for a similar price, and we know what we're getting...

Isn't that the same rumour from a couple of days ago? If so, Moutinho has said he wants to stay at Porto (which you can read as either him wanting to stay at Porto, or not wanting to join Monaco)

I get the feeling Michu may be a one-season wonder so, with Swansea likely to demand £15m+ for him that's a risk. Benteke looks like a better bet, but Villa are expecting £20m for him - which, again, is a lot of risk (to put it into context, Soldado is valued at £15m and has a much better scoring rate than Benteke does)

Really? I think he looks really decent. Not like, say, Andy Carroll who, even when people were drooling over him at Newcastle obviously had a dodgy first touch and looked a little, er, agricultural.

Michu's 27 or so though and 15m would be a lot. Not sure I'd go for it. Not if Villa's 12m, for example.

HBIC - I saw the "wanting up stay at Porto" rumours, but hadn't seen this.
The news reports were only a few hours old when I looked, not days.

Others seem to think we've lost that race now. I'm glad. I think he's overpriced and doesn't score enough goals.

Benteke's got the other Belgians at Spurs, and quite a lot of the players speak French. Can't underestimate the potential cohesiveness of that.
