http://metro.co.uk/2013/05/22/west-...ub-midlands-for-bright-london-lights-3804402/ If this happens i will be annoyed to be honest. The kid is 20 years old now, and has proven he can score goals against any team in the PL if you put him on the field. Whats he going to learn at West Ham that he didnt learn at West Brom last year? All he lacks is a bit more European experience, and he wont get that at West Ham. The kid has proven his worth in the PL, get him back here and start playing him FFS!! He outscored both Ba and Torres in the league, and that was playing with West Brom....unless we are going to buy Falcao or someone of a similar standard, then Lukaku should start for us next season.
Don't want him to be playing for the hoof ball merchants either. West Brom play some nice stuff, West Ham are largely dross. He needs to be in a team that play the right way like West Brom. Maybe Swansea would be a good fit as they have europa next season too?
maybe Chelsea would be a good fit, seeing as he out scored both our strikers in the league, playing for a mid table team......
Exactly, we loaned him out to get first team experience and grow as a player, I honestly dont think he has much more to gain from another loan spell tbh. I'll say again, he out scored Ba and Torres in the league, playing at a mid table team....that really tells us all we need to know. Unless we sign a big name striker in the summer, Lukaku should be first choice...
Up until a short while ago I was all for him having another season out on loan, didn't want him wasting his time sitting on our bench, however watching him play recently especially against Man U in that last game I am now sure he would be able to hold his own with Chelsea. I wouldn't want to see him wasting his time at West Ham, I think he may even go backwards if that happens.

I dont doubt West Ham and a dozen other clubs would love to sign Lukaku! I personally would love him back here,, as with Jose in control he could become the new Drogs!
What he has to gain is more minutes on the pitch. Unless he comes back and starts playing regularly, he may go backwards. We'd all like to see it of course but can you imagine him being our main striker next year with Torres and Ba still there and given the players we are being linked with? Remember he is also still very young and there is a massive difference between playing at West Brom and playing say C.L footie.
Thats what I am saying, he should start for us, if he is scoring more goals, in less games than the strikers we are currently using, its a no brainer. Granted it will be different if we sign someone like Falcao or Lewendowski, but at the moment it makes no sense to loan out a striker that scores more goals than our starting strikers...
I see what you are saying but maybe it's a 'problem' with how we set up as much as anything. Over the past couple of seasons, it has striked me that whoever is playing up top doesn't exactly get chance after chance. We seem more geared towards set peices and runners from midfield. Don't get me wrong, chances have been wasted by the likes of Torres this year that maybe a sharp on form number 9 would be banging in, but I'm just not that convinced that anyone would get masses of goals from up front in our side ATM. Therefore just comparing goals scored may be an over simplification.
If it was a choice of loaning him and getting Lewandowski I'd happily do it. Rather it be with someone like Swansea though.
I guess, IF we sign a new big name striker. I suppose it also depends on what formations Jose will want to play with. If we are playing with one striker or not.
Very true. I also don't think Lukaku is quite there yet to play for us if we want to challenge at the top. Another season of regular football at a higher club could be a vital stepping stone for him. My worry is he wouldn't see it that way and think he's been shafted out like he did last summer.
He's 20 years old, 21 by next season, he scores a hat trick for an ordinary club against the PL champions, and more goals than our 1st team strikers ??????? FFS it's a no brainer !!!!!!!! Get him back NOW. It's time we started giving our talent some experience with OUR team. Surely by seasons' end he'll be a far better player than at West Ham or wherever????
Gotta say I agree with CP and Sean. He showed us last season that he has more to his game than anyone else Chelsea have in their squad, striker wise. Still though, the signing of a big name striker would change things
like you said, he's still young and there will be pressure on him to perform similarly or even better for us than for West Brom. Wouldn't mind him being our striker next season but another season out for me. oh and just to be clear, I do not want us spending £50m odd on one striker. If that was the option I'd rather just keep Lukaku.
