R.I.P. Mick, always loved watching the wrestling when I was a kid. Then it was the football scores right after.

Mick McManus was one of the last proper wrestlers before the Big Daddy / Giant Haystacks bullshit brigade heralded the farce the sport has now become. RIP Mick

Elvis (Declan McManus) Costello's Dad was indeed Ross McNanus, who sang with the Joe Loss Orchestra as well as on several BBC sessions. He's a small chap Chazz and he wouldn't be a wrestler. Lover not a fighter I think the expression is! However, I worked with him on BBC R2 sessions and at the Dee St club when I resident there. He always had a young and fit lady on his arm. Nice fellow with it!

    RIP Mick McManus

Another part of one's growing up gone this week. First time I heard my great gran swear was at the TV, 'dirty bleeding bastard' she yelled! I remember someone saying it wasn't real and she said 'it would be if I got in that ring with him' and indeed she would have handbagged him

Yes it's true, the main voice was Ross McManus and the backing vocals a very young Elvis Costello!
