Rooney's boots are hard to fill but i would love it if we get Bale. he suits our play. He's going to be one great playe, he's still very young and can only get better.

Bale is 2 times better than Rooney if we compare both player's forms in the past 2 seasons

Well they signed Moye's to a 6 year contract. If they didn't plan on giving him a good amount of time, you'd imagine they'd sing him to a short contract.

We should start a separate 'How long will Moyes last?' thread so Chelsea fans can dreamily convince themselves that he will be sacked if we have a couple of bad games like the Glazers have somehow morphed into Abramovic just because Ferguson has left.

That will leave these threads on topic.

So, back to that. I now hope that Moyes and Rooney meet and Rooney decides to stay on. He'll get all the reassurance he needs to be number ten and crack on, he's too good to let go in my opinion.

If he is adamant he wants to leave then let him, I've no argument now.

We would have to get someone excellent to replace him though, Bale being my choice.

Ruff, until you start your Moyes thread, I'll post this here!

If David Moyes was called Davido Moyzetto and had kept a club like Levante bobbing around 5th - 8th position in La Liga for a number of years he'd be heralded as a genius and great appointment for United.

There's great excitement about a 60 year old Chilean taking over at City. To be fair he does have experience of managing a big club as he was at Real for a season. OK he spent £200million on four players but with Kaka, Benzema, Ronaldo and Alonso as new recruits you're not going to expect much more than a cup defeat to a Segunda Division side and going out of the CL in the first knock out round to Lyon.

Also to be fair, he does have European success on his CV as he won the Intertoto Cup.

British managers aren't supposed to get the top jobs in English football although Moyes is replacing the greatest manager in the history of the British game who happens to be British!

One of the funniest things about these Chelsea boys is that they are 100% certain that Mourinho will just saunter back in and 'guarantee' success.

Now, I put that in quotes because I am quoting that word, guarantee.

There are no ****ing guarantees of anything at all, whatsoever, in football and Mourinho might well just be simmering with resentment at being sacked last time out and cause an absolute **** storm when he goes back there. He does that wherever he goes eventually anyway but he could well do it immediately Roman rubs him up the wrong way on his return this time.

He MIGHT be a success. Equally, he may well not be.

As for City, this man will take at least a season to get anywhere near to grips with our game, if he ever does, so they've ****ed themselves up nicely again. Long may that continue.

I imagine the Real fans were having the same kind of wet dreams about la decima when Mourinho pitched up at the Bernabeu <ok>

Interesting how Chelsea fans think Mourinho will guarantee them a shot at the league title, when if anything his league performances to date have been as expected at most of the clubs he goes to. He did very well at Porto, but in his first spell at Chelsea they had the best squad in the PL by a long way and and most money so were obvious favourites for the league once Arsenal cracked and imploded. Similarly with Inter - Calciopoli meant they were pretty much guaranteed the title when he was there. And one title in three years at Real is pretty much standard for the richest club in the world.

Will be interesting to see how he copes if he comes to Chelsea at a time when they aren't the best or richest club in the league.

I dunno - I think Mancini had taken them as far as he could. Like Dalglish at Blackburn or Wilkinson at Leeds, he didn't have any great connection with the players and all that motivated them was the thought of the league title. Once the title was won they dropped right off the pace and were nowhere, and all the players hated him according to the papers. Whilst Pellegrini will take some time to get going, I think in the long term he's got a decent chance of achieving more with them than Mancini did.

I agree in that I think Mancini was bordering on hopeless at times but he would have been best placed to take advantage of the uncertainty at United and Chelsea with new managers etc.
If they'd have kept him then they would be definite favourites for the title, as it goes they now start again from scratch with a manager unfamiliar with our league, which Moyes and Mourinho and Wenger etc. are not, and so give the advantage right back to us.

Long term Pellegrini may well be the answer but it will be for the longer term.

Mourinho didn't guarantee success at Real. In fact he failed and is loathed by their fans as the one thing he did bring them was negative publicity, although that's not an issue for Chelsea, they revel in negative publicity!

To be honest I would applaud City's owners if that's the view they are taking. Refreshing to see rich owners who will take a long term view to a fundamental problem, rather that just look at one season at a time.

Bale: yeah I want him at the club who wouldn't but would he play as a left winger as we need one or would he want to play behind the striker as he has been for most of the season.

Lewandowski: very good striker but Bayern look set to get him

Falcao: said in an interview that he wants to stay at AM but wants to play in the Prem in the future, if we sign him it wont be this year

Where do you guys think we need to strengthen anyway, for me its Midfield, left Winger and maybe another Right winger to challenge Valencia, and possibly Left Back. And if Ronaldo does go to Chelsea with Mourinho would you call him "Judas"?

Yeh Dave I see your point, If Ronny did go to Chelsea I wouldn't be happy but I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Sol Campbell (spurs/arsenal). But I have a feeling PSG will have the clout to take him there.

If Rooney does go then we have to get a striker, or Bale and play him in a floating role, him and Persie would be lethal. I've said for ages I like the look of Benteke, and probably get him for decent price.
As for major strengthening it has to be central midfield, Fellaini is my bet. Wouldn't mind Thiago Alcantara from Barca linked with him this morning. I agree we need a winger Zaha will challenge Young but as for Valencia I had been mulling something over for a while, funny coz it has a Chelsea link, what about Argen Robben, he is still lethal and he's free, what you think about that?
Going into the defence maybe Garay from Benfica for centreback cover for the future, but yeh Left Back is a concern how long does Evra have left? If we signed Baines that would be great but having both on the books, both will want to play 1st team but will the other be happy on the bench? And to be fare I think Evra had his best season so would it be fair to replace him, it's not as if it's our major weakness.
Hope all that made sense im laying foundations, writing and listening to TalkSPORT, who says blokes can't multi-task <whistle>

Barcelona will almost certainly put a buy back clause in Thiago's contract. They did it for our player, Romeu, also Bojan who players for Rome/Milan.

Yeh they did it with Pique, he is some player Thiago but suppose with Barca's midfield he was always going to struggle.

IIRC they didn't do it with Pique, he wanted to leave us cos he was behind Rio and Vidic in the pecking order and Barca were offering him first team football. He also didn't have a professional contract with Barca when he joined us cos he was too young so it was a free transfer.

I think since Cesc and Pique they have done it with almost all their young players, making their transfers effectively long term loan deals!

That's really clever when you think about it, wonder if we would bother with a buyback for Rooney <whistle>
