I would sincerely hope that rodgers having played him a tthe end already sat the lad down called him a jessie and told him to get beefed up over the summer and when he comes back in preseason he'd better be bashing lads all over the place.

sitting down with him in preseason is meaningless unless he's been given some sort of goal to work on over the summer. I would be telling him exactly where he went wrong in january frankly but obviously nothing happened then

great... read as we've tapped him up and he's going to refuse west ham and will bid in august once he does preseason and gives rodgers a headache cos we think we can get him for 10.

I HOPE rodgers is moving him early cos he wants a proper forward in for those first 6 matches.

This is a signing that in one hand makes a lot of sense but in the other doesnt seem like a priority.

We dont have much quality depth in midfield and struggle with out Gerrard and Lucas.

But we already have Allen, who Rodgers loves, and Strootman is not a DM. Though Rodgers seems to like Allen as a more advanced midfielder.

It would be a very ambitious signing though.

Not seem much of Strootman but I've heard good things about him, certainly rated by a lot of people so we'll have to see how that one turns out.

I'm a big fan of Henderson and I think he'll be a cracking player for us - but I certainly think it's an area we could strengthen is as he is by far not the finished article, not entirely sure we should bring in some one else with "potential", though.

Nothing wrong with competition for spots. Gerrard is another year older, Lucas hasn't been great either. Strootman is a quality player.

 

Henderson plays in the front 4. I would expect Strootman to play further back.

Judging from Rodgers so far he see's Henderson as a versatile AM, Coutinho as a player maker, I dont know what you would call Allen, but some one who plays in the Coutinho area and passes the ball around... Shelvey? maybe a false 9.

Who covers/competes with/rotates with Gerrard and Lucas? We lack depth in this area of the field.

When linked with United he has been suggested for the Roy Keane role.

Again, I couldn't agree more

My only concern really is whether signing someone like Strootman, Alonso, Eriksen, etc would be at the expense of much needed defensive recruitments.
