To be honest i think having the teams like Stoke under Pulis makes the Premier league what it is and i would be worried if we all teams wanted to play a pretty passing style of football because that's what we want to see... I dont really like watching Stoke play but that is what makes it a test, and a test is what it should be to win the league, there are many different styles to overcome to do it. We cant have a league full wanna-be-Barca's, it just wouldn't work. Nobody likes Stoke, but you have to respect the fact he kept them a Premier team for such a long time... Go and ask leeds, wolves, ipswich, derby and forest if they would swap places... In a bloody flash...!!!
Irrelevant if Pulis turns up at Gwladys Road - you'll be the long ball specialists then - Flogging Baines and Fellatio to Moyes at United should get you enought money to buy Carroll
Ah but he plays accurate, long distance passes to feet- not hit- and -hope punts up to some lummox in the penalty area.
Of course he does, they never go astray do they? He never plays a %age ball, of course not.... Gerrard made a total mug of himself, when he came out after the Goodison derby & brimming with bile & bitterness, started spouting off about us being a long ball side - only to have the stats rammed back down his throat the next day & he had to back track quicker than an Italian tank.
There is a difference between aimlessly hoofing the ball from defence in the hope that one of the big men up top manages to collect it AND aiming a long ball to a certain player so it arrives at his feet. Then again, you don't play attractive football so I wouldn't expect you to understand
Tobes is conveniently forgetting 'The Dogs Of War' and Drunken Ferguson, Pulis will restore the status quo over the park.
Of course they go astray sometimes, but to equate him with a side that have an accepted long ball style is silly.
During the first half of the season, Stoke City had one of the best defence in the premiership:so there is something positive about them.
hahaha, clueless, but if it helps you get some faux sense of superiority back, then I suppose it's good therapy to delude yourself in this way.
Not as silly as calling the current Everton team a long ball side. Do you lads permanently live in the past?
Not forgetting anything mate, the dogs of war side that included Limpar & Kanchelskis under Royle you mean? lol
That side were great, played with pride, passion, commitment & no little skill. Limpar on one wing Andrei on the other, I think he got nearly 20 goals that season. Great memories.
Good news for Air Traffic Control and aviation in the Stoke area. And tbf Tobes, many, many Liverpool fans contradicted Gerrard last year too before any 'statistics' were mentioned or rammed down anyones throats.
Can't say I remember coming across any of this hoard of sensible reds mate, I just remember shed loads of plassies guffawing at the 'hilarity' of their club captains Stoke inferences...
right other than the everton v liverpool wumming... which is quite entertaining..... Anyone else see the first rat jumping ship here? ferguson retires then pulis goes so who's next? fat sam? darren ferguson must be out of a job and frankly there are quite a few utd hacks that will not be too secure right now.
