    So what you're saying is...

We need Spearing back in the first team? Coincidently, we need a new Vice Captain too <whistle>

  2. Although I loved his passion, certainly not <laugh>

I do think we need another DM though. Maybe we could occasionally push Gerrard forward into the AM role giving us a front four of Stevie, Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge?

Keep his purse strings tight and he will look for a few free transfers like Toure.

Look if Skrtel wants out Rodgers will know already so its best to start bringing in a few so Toure makes sense.

If Skrtel is staying then he will be ahead of Toure anyway (as his legs have gone) surely. No problem with that (I like Skrts), we just have a stronger squad.

As I said before, for next year at least there's no way I want Rodgers gambling on us needing Kelly for long periods. Let the lad get fit first and then if he's got the fight and ability he'll get past Toure and Skrtel and whoever else on merit.

Probably spelt the name wrong. But a few papers reckon he's on his way to us? Your thoughts? I think if he's free then a good bit of business as long as his wages are controlled

    Hi all.

Could i just borrow a minute of your time again? Just doing a 'ask the opposition' transfer edition for an Arsenal website. If possible could you answer these questions?

What area/s of weakness do Arsenal have on the pitch?

What player/s would improve that weakness?

    Jovetic or Higuain?

    Julio Cesar or Szczesney?

What player would you buy from Arsenal and why?

Could anyone willing to give it a go PM the answers to me. Cheers much appreciated,

    Oz

Rodgers wants a new first team CB - Papa. This implies that Skrtel isn't good enough to command a place in the first XI therefore he would be considered as an expendable asset which can get us another £10-12m. I do like Skrtel because he has shown that he is good enough on his day but I don't think he would be happy playing second fiddle to a 21 year old so I can see him going.

Tony Barrett said that Schalke are willing to sell Papa for £12m which is an absolute bargain! The way I see it is, we sell Carroll for £15m which will fund Papa, Toure and Ilori - 3 new defenders who represent the present, experience and youth. Shift Coates and Skrtel for about £20m to add to our war chest.

In addition, Carroll has been ruled out for up to 4 months - I don't think this will have an impact on a transfer as West Ham and LFC have already accepted a bid, and we're just awaiting AC to agree personal terms. However, I think AC will delay this in the attempt of inducing an offer from Newcastle - hopefully this can be all sorted out quickly.

In more interesting news, there are rumours that West Ham are looking at bringing back another ex-Hammer ... rumoured to be Shelvey.

just for you but i aint pming it.

You can afford but won't get jovetic. I think higuin would be a huge deal for you and fits the style

cesar aint great, not messing about here. Szczesney is inconsistent but a better bet. why pay the wages to a crap brazilian?

From arsenal? Obvious. whilshire, why. classiest midfielder in the prem of his age group. we don't need walcott or chamberalin as we have options there ourselves.

Yep - technically. I think he was also on Arsenal's books as well. The value I think we could get £7m (Please note that this isn't the value that I think he's worth!).

Nothing new but Echo are reporting that Rodgers will sit down with Coates when players return for pre-season.

The Carroll transfer has potential to drag on for a while - Carroll wants to stay at LFC and prove his worth but he has no future. If he does go, his preferred destination would be Newcastle.

If he wants to get rid surely he'd not wait until Pre-season?
That fact that he wants to have words with the fella on his return, leads me to believe he wants to keep him but send him out on loan, which I would agree with!
