Which club, out of the second tier Premiership clubs, will break up the big 4 and play Champions League football first? Liverpool (+/-Suarez) Everton Aston Villa Newcastle Spurs (+/-Bale) Spurs seem to be in a negative spiral since the heady winter of 2010/11 and the month-long power shift in February 2011
Honestly Liverpool I think they have brought in decent talent Courtinho looks a top player if they keep Lecter they will be in a very strong position too challenge next season with new additions in the summer.
Spurs I think. They did pretty well with a fairly ordinary squad. Three well considered signings could do wonders for them, and I think their Manager is the real deal.
Liverpool will be challenging in a matter of time IMO. Dunno about next season though, similar thing will happen with Arsenal/Spurs I reckon and top three same but different order. I think it'll be a LOT closer next season for the title.
I agree you would expect Chelsea, Man U & City all to be challenging and if Wenger does spend it could be very interesting. While you 4 are knocking bells out of each other we can just sneak a top 4 place.
Be interesting to see how Newcastle and Liverpool do without EL, think they will both finish top 10 but not top 4, I reckon Spurs will finish top 4 if they just sent the kids out in Europe and fully concentrated on the league and 2 cups
Who are they going to displace though ? It looks like Wenger will finally strengthen this summer, so they are quite likely to pull away from Spurs. Chelsea will inevitably spend, so will City and I can't see Spurs knocking Utd out of the top 4
I too, think the top 4 will be the same next season (albeit hopefully in a different order). Us and City will probably bring in two top managers and spend, Arsenal HAVE to spend this summer or Wenger will be out the door at the end of next season. Utd are Utd and will be up there as always. However, IF, and thats if, any team does it, it would have to be Spurs. They have a decent squad built around a great player and a manager who seems to know his stuff. Liverpool are at least 2 seasons from competing for a CL place imo. Everton wont have Moyes next season and I am not even sure why Newcastle and Villa are on that list tbh
