Definately sounded to me as if a deal was already done, and not at the hammers ... on his way to the lane, back home?
Hoping it's the latter. The ensuing fistfight after Carroll gets photographed out on the town would make for a fun week of headlines.
So what was the points gap between this years champions and last years? 5 points, 2 games and that becomes a defecit. Im sure im right on this one. I don't worry about us, the team will have a full season with MP plus a few additions. We will continue to play attractive attacking football on the floor. See you next year can't wait to see west hams show stopping performances!
extended contract for some stability and HOOOOOFFFF They'll spend circa 20m this summer I think, but I wouldn't want BFS in charge of that. It will either be 10 bargains or 2 high priced failures IMO. Remy?? lol
You will have a new manager by the end of the year. Once the new manager "bounce" was over, it was no wins in 6 And pretty much bottom of the form guide. That's why I worry for you. Lets hope you are gonna spend a few quid because you will need to.
Funny how you worry about us so much you're on our board every five minutes. The discussion of your Tika-Taka style of play on the West Ham board too modern for you?
My reading of next season is that it will be a re-run of this in terms of league layout.I think that two of the promoted sides will be cut adrift with about ten of us fighting to avoid 18th spot.
We ended up two points off a top ten finish and a couple of games from the end of the season most of our board were convinced that we were down, that's how close things were.If the SWans had lost to Wigan it would have been closer still.
The only teams that are safe from relegation are the "top teams". Even Fulham, who are the best of the rest IMO, were dragged into the relegation fight. I have a feeling Cardiff will be next season's QPR, Hull don't score many goals and if Watford get promoted then they'll have a problem with their loan signings and transfer embargos. It's a shame that weak teams like Wigan and Reading went down, it was better when strong looking teams like West Ham, Blackburn and Birmingham go down and teams like Wolves and Wigan stay up. I'm hoping next season will be a lot more straight forward!
I agree this is likely. Barring an implosion at Everton the top 7 clubs are out of reach and there's normally at least one promoted team that can't make the step up but from 8th to 18th or 19th all Premier League clubs are pretty similar and that's been the pattern for a while now. A few key injuries, a couple of suspensions or player sales and a side could be in trouble (Newcastle being the prime example this year). Similarly, a decent signing or two and a couple of players in really good form for a few games can make a big difference. Swansea have done well again this year but have the added Europa League fixtures next year and they've had a negative impact on the league performance of more than one club over the years. Saints are apparently planning another medium-sized spending spree so things may change but right now I'd say an 8th place finish isn't out of the question given a bit of luck. Of course, with a bit of bad luck 18th or 19th are possible as well.
West Ham sign Razvan Rat, are close to signing Massimo Ambrosini and are looking like signing Andy Carroll for £15m. Am I sure I don't some of what you are having? Most definitely!
Or we are the sale of Fox away from a top ten finish. His knock down for the City goal in the first game cost us a point, his penalty and hitting it against Jos against Newcastle was another direct point. i am sure there are more. Selling him would make us about 5 points a season better off!
Romania Captain, AC Milan captain, England international striker. Yep. Think I'm ok with these signings.
Ambrosini is 36 in 8 days time... is plonking 'names' who are past the best as your high earners really a good policy? Short termism if ever I saw it.
