Apparently it's close to being done.

He would be a fantastic acquisition for them. I honestly reckon they will be contending next year. Wenger's last season and they look to be spending big.

the way they finished the season, you feel with a few quality signings they will be contenders
they just need that mental toughness over the whole season

    Agreed.
The way they finished the season was title contender form. If they can carry that on, and spend on 2-3 class players, they will be a team to be reckoned with for sure next season.

Nah not buying it. They only put a run together when they were desperately far off the top 4 pace, had nothing else to play for and they had a pretty easy run in too. Who did they actually beat in that run in of real note? They continue to struggle against the top sides and can't manage more than 1-2 competitions at once.

They weren't contenders when they had top scorer RVP banging them in; so can't see how buying an unproven striker from Italy is going to turn them around so suddenly.

Their first team is OK and they play some nice stuff but they don't have the squad or the mental toughness to really compete anymore.

Ah, the voice of sense. While I do quite like Arsenal, and I'd rather be competing with them than Spurs, they are a good 2-3 seasons of building off being a force. Jovetic will not solve their problems; completely unproven in Europe; scoring a fair amount of goals in a poor league past 5th place doesn't convince me.

They stayed around the same level as last season because they just shaded us again(as much as it hurts). RVP left which was a big blow but what they got right was signing Cazorla. Nasri and Fabregas had left and gone unreplaced which was a big blow to them in the season which is something RVP's form covered.

As for Jovetic, from the little I've seen of him I've not been convinced and I certainly can't see them putting on a serious title challenge by signing him.

He only has one year left but I suspect a bid war may erupt. So many good forwards who could be moving this summer though.
