Late evening to all Well fed and watered and family nostalgia revived. Great lunch cooked by Mrs H, walk around Hampshire lanes, Orkells Bitter from the Isle of Man in our village pub, more food and Aussie reisling this evening. Families are so spread out these days, it's a rare treat to have at least three siblings together and we've thoroughly enjoyed it...with more to come. Leo, sorry to hear what you've been driven to...sadly health provision isn't good enough in too many places.
Oh Leonardo, that absolutely sucks, i'm so sorry to hear this. It's just completely wrong. But as has been said, hopefully you will find the treatment Mrs L needs. Hugs for you both. night night, my lovely little canary!
Morning all from a mild but overcast Weston-super-Mare! My right hearing aid has stopped working again, so it's a visit to hospital again this mornig! Talking of hospitals, Leonardo, it is part of the NHS Charter that if your doctor gives you a referral, you can ask to be referred to any hospital that you choose, so if it's the Royal Marsden you want, just tell them! Good luck to you for a positive outcome!
Thanks Dave. Until October Mrs L was getting treatment at the RM - she had her operation there and then was put on a clinical trial - however when that failed (funded by the drugs company) the RM applied to the Welsh Health Service for funding and they refused saying she could be treated in Wales - she was referred to Swansea against her wishes. Wales is outside the English "Charter" so we have to move to England to get treatment there - hence our move. Once we have moved she can as you say choose where she is treated which is why we are moving near the Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden.

I can see that the Welsh and Scots wish to run their own nations but some of the things they look after should only have one control. The government of the United Kingdom takes your money to one place so logically they should spend on your health from one place. If the Marsden hospital is what you wish for and they have space that is what should be supplied. You have paid for the health service and where you live is not a wall to be climbed over.
It's annoying because in so many issues, England and Wales fall under the same umbrella, very good luck to Mrs L, give her a big hug from us all! Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, have a nice day!
afternoon. Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, much needed this morning! Can't believe it's only Tuesday...i have a feeling this is going to be a very very long week!
Hope all are well. Leo - good luck with it all one again, I hope it works out how you want it too. I've been fined twice for minor immigration infractions, change of employer and house without sufficient notice. About $2600 MXP in total, I bet this goes straight to the xmas party fund but have to take the slap on the wrist...grim. Visa should be processed in time though...
I have been told that there is a better WiFi signal in the bar here. Think I should try it out for a few evenings, just to make sure that all is well for Monday.
So sorry to hear about you and your wife's trials Leo, and can only hope that things turn out as you would like them to (From now on at least).
Evening all Don't canaries go to bed early? Though they may retire upstairs to read a good book of course
Hi all, first chance I've had to visit the nest for a while. Soo busy with work at the moment, still better to be busy I guess. Looks like I'll have a busy weekend too, heading for IOW for the weekend but having to get 6am ferry =-O. Which means leaving the house at 3am!!!!! I'm going to come back on Monday and head straight to Wembley for the big one. Going to be one hell of a weekend.
