Bendtner's wages are paid in full , Denilson's wages are paid in full plus if anyone meets his 5mn asking price we can recall him at anytime. Chamd 's wages are also paid in full. No clue on Park or Djou. Also in some cases we get loan fees i.e. Bendtner and denilson.

Well that's the rule! Jack and Jenkinson do not have to be registered.

I am 99% sure that isn't true. Don't know the situation with Bendtner but we are certainly still paying Denilson and Chamakh some of their wages. Likewise with Park and Djourou.

But even so we can only sign home-grown players, because we need them to make up the numbers.

No we dont like I said at the start of the year we registerd 22 players 7 of which were home grown. The 2 home grown players we will probably lose Djourou and Eastmond can be replaced with by Jack and Jenk. That leaves 3 players to register. Then we have 3 slots to fill 1 of which ghas to be homegrown as the rule is 8 vs 17. On top of which we lose 4 more non HG players from the list - Arshavin, Squillachi, Chamakh, Diaby (santos's space is taken by Monreal) that is another 4 players.

If we register Jack and Jenkinson plus one more HG (qualafied at Arsenal or elsewhere) we can register at least 6 more players who have to have absolutely no need to Be HG so you are way off.

I'm looking at the team list on the Arsenal website and the current players that are homegrown are :

Szczeny, Mannone, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Ramsey, Wilshere, Theo and Ox. We need 8 and that's it. I think where you are going wrong is that we only resgistered 23 players this year, 7 of which were homegrown. The rule is not that you must have 8 homegrown, it is that you can't have more than 17 NOT homegrown. Currently we have 24 listed first team players on the website.

So you are right, we don't have to put Wilshere in the squad, but we will not be able to register anyone in his place.

This may be where you are going wrong : the first team on the Arsenal website is not what we have registered with the EPL it is just the players who are considered first team the list submitted at the start of the season was

"Arsenal: Andre Santos, Arshavin, Arteta, Cazorla, Chamakh, Diaby, Djourou (H), Eastmond (H), Gervinho, Gibbs (H), Giroud, Koscielny, Mannone (H), Mertesacker, Podolski, Ramsey (H), Rosicky, Sagna, Squillaci, Szczesny (H), Vermaelen, Walcott (H)."

This is 22 players 7 of which are home grown. If we were to name a squad of 25 we have to have the full 8 HG. As we registered only 22 we were obliged to only name 7 HG players Wilshere and Jenkinson were under 21.

However from the list of registered players the players we are going to lose are

HG : Eastmond and Djouru ( register Jack and Jenkinson as HG players instead of them to keep the HG number at 7, just realised both will be 21 or over on 1st Jan so will have to be registerd anyway.)

Non HG : Santos (replaced by Monreal), Arshavin, Squillachi, Chamachk, Diaby - Means we can add 4 non HG players in there place.

Also as the squad registered was only 22 players we have an additional 3 places to fill but if were to do that we would have to add atleast 1 more HG player. So even if we register Wilshere and Jenkinson we will have a min of 4 non HG spots to fill and upto 6 if we add one more HG player.

My will to live has ended after this. We are very close to where I was when we started. You seem to wan't to do this based on the team we had at the beginnig of the year, but that is just getting us more confused.

Of our first team players only Ox is going to be U21.

Non home-grown - Fabianski, Sagna, Per, Kos, TV, Monreal, Arteta, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud and Gervinho. (Squillaci, Diaby, Coquelin, Arshavin) <one empty spot>
Home-grown - Szczeny, Manonne, Jenks, Gibbs, Ramsey, Jack, Theo <one empty spot>

My original point stands - You can tell which players are coming in based on the gaps in the team, and Wenger HAS to spend to fill these empty spaces. He registered 23 players this year and the other 3 places in the squad of 26 were taken by Ox, Jenks and Wilshere. He will take a squad of 26 next year as well, so will NEED to sign or promote, as you say up to 5 players, although as you point out he could under the rules sign as many as 6.

I think you got twisted around into thinking that I was arguing that we wouldn't sign players, where I was actually saying that we have no choice and we will sign players based on the spaces we have in the first team squad.
