Just finished watching it. I'm not going to comment I just hope that people are held accountable at the end of this but there's a long way to go yet.
It really shows the immense spectrum of human behaviour. Those families staying dignified despite being brutalised and trampled over just to save the careers and reputations of a few dirty pigs and politicians. Those responsible STILL living it up at our expense. It shows just how disgusting our "establishment" really is and the lengths they'll go to to look after their own...and despite the truth being out they are STILL untouchable a quarter of a century later... ....but we're the real scum right?
2 things that got me, i already knew number 2 but still! 1. there was someone punching the **** out of a wall in the hanger or whatever it was and nobody gave a **** and didn't pay any attention to him in his hour of need. 2. the PROPERTY of Sheffield Coroners!!!!!!! wasn't even allowed to touch your own family member or say good bye or anything, that is the most fecking disgusting thing i have ever heard in my life. they said at the end to an oldish couple that do you think anyone will ever be accountable and you will get justice over this and the answer was what we all deep down know the answer to, was NO!! shove your Sirs,Chief constables, Home secretary's, Prime ministers,chief Medical officers,Lords up your fecking arse! and we have the nerve to preach to other countries how they should live and act!
It was known immediately that they had made a monumental **** up and they were passing the blame straight away, as it was unfolding someone was asked why this was happening 'the Liverpool fans have smashed down the gate' gutless ****s
The irony of ironies, Bettison the main instigator of the cover-up was eventually made chief constable of Merseyside, the Hillsborough families knew but couldn't prove at the time that he was up to his neck in lies and diverting the truth and advised Merseyside Police Authority against his appointment but the ****s never listened. So now we the people of Merseyside contribute to the bastards pension through our local taxes.
I watched it last night with tears in my eyes. how the bastards covered it all up and shifted the blame is truly astounding. to think these bastards run the country and, to an extent, our lives, and the way they covered there own tracks and blame innocent people shows what a bunch a ****s they really are. the dignity of the families who lost sons, daughters, brothers and sisters was outstanding. how they could face the cameras and muster the courage to talk about how they were shafted by there own government and police force was heroic. the bastards messed with the wrong people! prosecutions are a must! JUSTICE FOR THE 96 AND THE FAMILIES!
I'm surprised Kay ****ing Burley hasn't popped back up yet to have the impertinence to ask again "What is the point of persuing this campaign, as it isn't going to bring back the dead" as she did to Margaret Aspinall. You sensed the hand of Murdoch in that act of spite. As I've said before, I'm sorry i don't have one zillionth of the dignity and persistence of Williams, Hicks, Aspinall et al. and I personally have heard enough now to stick the ****houses against a wall with Blair and that conniving, duplicitous **** Straw and stone them to death. You know, it wasn't the numerous ****-ups that the police did that were the prime cause of the disaster that enrages me; saddens me, yes, but life is full of mistakes and humans err. But the cold-blooded, calculated, highly-organised smear campaign by the police, government and the unnaccountable media is what screams to the heavens in shear bewilderment and demands attonement. And yet, even at this point, as one of the parents of the dead admitted in the programme, you suspect very sadly that the establishment still has cards to deal from the bottom of the deck, and the guilty will evade justice. Bettison, ruined though his reputation is, is just laughing at us with his Merseyside-funded pension and knowledge that he could bring as many connected and implicated politicians and judiciary down with him (and some editors too) if the powers in the back corridors don't stop this happening to him. What's the bets that if he ever is prosecuted and, perhaps even, convicted he has a sudden heart attack or brain haemorrhage?
