Have you seen how much Denilson and the likes are on? It wouldn't surprise me if the tea lady was on millions too, she'd deserve it more than half the players at Arsenal.

Less so now. Had Arsenal failed to make CL even once between 2006-2011 they'd have been in virtual ruin.

It's vital for everybody though. The amount of money floating about in football these days makes it that way. Spurs need it just as much or they will be forced to sell on any top players they have.

This is all UEFA's legacy. The Le Tissier's and Shearer's thing of the past now

 

The difference is not the tea-lady, it is more the corporate lawyers, marketing and financial people. Some clubs employ them in the holding management company and some employ right out of the team. I don't think it is devious or has any particular intent, I just think it is the way some teams do it.

Unfortunately, you don't get to see anyone's actual salary, so all we can look at to compare salaries, is to look at the overall wages of a company and as most of the top teams are actually corporate groups, that can often mean you are comparing apples and oranges, depending on what the individual companies are responsible for.

 

That's all well and good TT, but I've yet to see anything to support the claim that some clubs do this and others don't.

 

...Not to mention the fact that Daniel Lavy is on about 2m a year isn't he? So how many people of his position need to be earning big bucks to make up the players' salaries? IF Spurs don't include these figures but Arsenal (a propos of no facts that I've heard) do.

Daniel Levy earns nowhere near as much as Nicholas Bentner, I'd suspect.

 

Liverpool often bleat about this as well. There is an * point in the Arsenal report that says that the figure includes non-playing salaries, so they obviously think it is worth noting.

I don't expect you guys to be reasonable, but even you must realize something is up when our wage bill (and Liverpool's) is so little less than Manchester United's?

We're being perfectly reasonable. You're making a claim, so I'd like you to support it. As such I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that it's correct, so I'll withhold judgement on whether it's true or not.

I think this board has been infested with the "Peskie" virus. A particularly virulent strain - seemingly impossible to eliminate. It causes those infected to keep repeating the same things over and over again until all within it's infection radius slip into a coma.
