Agreed, both James and King clearly work best in a midfield 3. We could do with someone like Bridcutt and then the midfield would look formidable. King looks best when he's not shackled by defensive duties, even though it's an area of his game he's really progressed in. I still think Drinkwater could be that 3rd man, but regardless of this we still need another player to cover- a 3-man midfield would currently leave only Wellens in that position, and I expect he'll go soon anyway.
I think Kings defensive responsibilities have actually stopped him "going missing" in games, if they take his defensive part away, the only way hes going to make an impact in the game is if he scores or puts in an assist.
King's goalscoring record from midfield is extremely good - if he was somebody else's player we'd all be raving about his stats ... him 'going missing' in games has become a bit of an 'urban myth' these days ... who was it that took a Karl Henry cruncher (and just got up, dusted himself down, and carried on)? ... who put us in front at Forest (where were the forwards?)? ... and who made a superb stretching, last-ditch tackle to deny Vydra in the second half at Watford (before the farce descended)? ... if that's going missing, I for one am looking forward to his invisible man act next season - should he stay that is ... and on that note, I've seen no transfer speculation for any of our other mdfielders? - certainly not from the Prem - which more or less says it all for me - great young talent that we need to hold on to if we can.
Andy King looks a lot better player when hes playing with Matty James then he does when he plays with Danny Drinkwater Could Drinkwater do what Matt Oakley did and get pushed onto the right?
I said if they take his defensive duties away ... someone mentioned 3 in midfield, you would assume that DD and James would play deep, which means that King would need to do more up top. To be honest i prefer the all round King, he'll score less goals but contributes more.
We really do need to keep hold of King, Moore and Schlupp All academy players who have made big impressions this season They can inspire the next generation of academy players Kingy scored his 50th goal for us, Moore got called up into the England under 21s and Schlupp went on trial at Man U
He started off on that position when we first signed him if I remember correctly and he did a pretty decent job- he's got a good cross on him but not enough pace or trickery to be an actual winger. He's just a bit too lightweight for CM in my opinion.
@OfficialFOXES: 75% - #LCFC goalkeeper @kschmeichel1 saved 153 of 204 shots faced in the 2012/13 season. Safe hands
While Kasper will never be as good as his old man (that's impossible), he is a very, very good goalkeeper. Kasper would not be out of place in any Premier League team. He has improved so much in the years I've seen him. And he can boot the ball further than any man!
Ive been "eyeing" the woman who lives across the road..Ive got more chance of getting in her pants than hull have of "doing business" with Leicester.. just shows how silly your owners comments were besides kasper don't want to end up with a bad back from all the bending over he would have to do
I totally agree that I don't see us doing business but kasper has told Bruce he would love to come if a deal can be sorted
