Interesting that Walter Mazzarri has confirmed he will leave as Napoli manager this summer. Could see him as a surprise choice somewhere in the Premier League. Maybe Everton, though he seems too good for them. Obviously an excellent manager considering what he's done at Napoli.
Spurs this year were everything I wanted: full of heart and tremendously exciting. We did better than any of us predicted we would, and we did it in style. I'm extremely pleased we pulled out the last game and the 72 points that went with it. I hope all teams I root for put on half as good a show as this one did. Both Chelsea and Arsenal deserve credit for being even hotter than we were at the end of the season and beating us to third and fourth.

He's a good manager, maybe a surprise shout for the Citeh job if Malaga block Pellegrini from leaving. Wouldn't rule him out of getting the PSG job though.
****ing tragic. This is what England have become. Even someone like AOC, who has done next to nothing for the whole season is now a regular member of the England squad.
Kieran Gibbs said in an interview, that although they are celebrating like it was a trophy, they are very much aware that it is only the first step in this journey of competing for major trophies.
It makes me laugh how the spuds are trying to wum us with this, if it was them who had finished 4th they would be celebrating it like their greatest achievement since everything was in black and white. And they wonder why we call them deluded
I was just saying the other day, that finishing outside the top 4 would have crippled us years ago, if we had done it. We simply don't have the money to buy our way back in. So if we celebrated a little over-zealously one can understand the relief. I think there is a mentality amongst big clubs like Chelski that failure is instantly cured by throwing money at a problem, i.e. Chelsea finish 6th last season, spend 100 million quid and hey presto, they pop up in 3rd this season. We are not in that financial position, and do not have the unlimited spending resources of the clubs above us. I think financial doping is a short term solution, in the long term it only papers over the serious cracks at club level.
Mourinho is coming to Chelsea promising that this time trophies will not be bought but "the emphasis this time will be on promoting exciting young talent, rather than buying in ready-made stars". And the first thing that he wants to do this is to splash £50 ml on Edison Canavi. And also buy German international Andre Schurrle.
And for all of the money Chelsea spent, they just finished 2 points above us, 3 above Spurs, with a plus 1 goal difference on us, with only the Europa League (failures trophy) to show for.
