Im not sure mate. if this really is the case then does he have to air it in public?. Could he not get Tf in a meeting one day and explain this too him. then TF could get the legal team on the case and get it sorted. I've had to get rid of people for similar (basically not giving a f**k). its all about building a case against them and collecting evidence to justify sacking them. if they are really doing this, his best course would be to keep stum..act as if nothing has happened and discipline them as per normal. Once has enough evidence as decided by the legal team, then he can boot them out. What I've larned is that people who do this eventually hang themselves....give them enough rope....! the more I think about it, the more I think he's getting ready to go....but then again WTF do I know!
Exactly this, well said SB. Whilst I totally accept that there are some players we need to clear out, HR "just being honest" with journalists in this way is merely a smokescreen to cover his own backside and divert attention from the fact that we've only had two points out of the last 27 on his watch. If he really had the best interests of the club at heart he wouldn't be coming out in public with this sort of thing, he would deal with it internally. These comments to me smack of self interest, i.e. I take no responsibility for the performances of this team, and if I do leave I now have an excuse as to why, and still none of it will be any of my fault. Poor.
Precisely ............... nothing more to say except that the only reason I think Harry is voicing his thoughts out loud is that he wants out, otherwise, as you say, only a fool makes public future business thoughts.
In all fairness the article is a bit poor as it has some poor reporting with saying Taarabt was left out because he is one of the players with a bad attitude when he was not even in the country. With Harry, he likes to have his own players as all managers do so let him get his team together because out of the players be got in January I have not been too disappointed with any of them TBH. He is as down as we all are about being relegated but let him have a pre season and 2 months of new one before we start the doom and gloom, I've had enough of it this season to last me a while.
Spot on. Harry's job is to manage. His slating the players in public merely reflects his own managerial and man management failures. Increasingly, in his actions and interviews, I wonder if Harry is actually thick as pigshit.
Just read The Times version of this story (via app, can't link I'm afraid). Harold's comments, all in direct quotation marks, amount to blackmail. Essentially if the board don't back him in getting who he wants in, he doesn't need the bother of the job. So if the window doesn't go as he likes he'll walk at the end of it, presumably, leaving a new manager no preparation time. Correct me if I'm wrong. but after the Wigan game Tony said that he had been through the squad with Harold and they were in agreement about who to move on and where to strengthen. And Harold was bigging up the 'fantastic' owners and fans. Ever had the feeling you've been cheated?
Harry's pointing out that what he bought into when he took on the manager's position was CHRONIC problems in the dressing room. There may be some arse covering/ reputation protecting motivation in his talks to journalists, but he's always worn his heart on his sleeve which is why the press love him. And he can still take a pretty objective view, because they're mostly not his players and it was clear that there was a big problem when he took over. Problems that went far deeper than reorganising training or tactics on the pitch. He's dealing with owners that are enthusiastic but not particularly knowledgeable about football, and he's aware that he may be told that certain players who are causing the problems have to stay because it would cost money to get rid of them. Harry's laying it out clearly that they HAVE to go, so he can build the team he wants. If not, then yes, he would probably walk. So, to take your point, Queens, the owners and their lawyers have to find a way to clear the recalcitrants, and it will almost certainly cost money, like supplementing a player like Bosingwa's salary after transfer or loan.
Goldi...totally accept what you are saying, but shouldn't someone harrys age with his experience being doing all this in the background. Any player in the firing line will have been fore-warned now and may be harder to shift or will put in place a contingency plan. Maybe it is Harrys way of covering his arse it it all goes to crap next season?. im sure he's been around long enough and he'll be able to say "I told you so" if need be. I just have a feeling that he's got something else going on. I don't remember too many other Prem managers slating their teams so publically....even the dreadfull Derby team didn't get this treatment. don't think this has run its course yet !
Di Canio is tearing into the Sunderland squad, but somehow it feels different - he's angry and passionate. Harold is just knackered and defeatist. He should have done what Di Canio is doing - tackling the discipline and attitude early, when he came in, instead of leaving it to fester for 6 months. If he had dropped players from day 1 on the grounds that their attitude stank and I would have been much happier, even if we were still relegated. Is Brighton easier to get to than us from Sandbanks?
I would have thought that Harry, TF and Beard would sit down in a calm and considered fashion, come up with a plan, give the emplyees fair warning and then adhere to it utterly strictly. I really don't think all this public laundry washing will help attract keen young talent to the club. I regret to say I am progressively less enamoured with Harry's methods as time has gone on. I would give him no more than six games at the start of the season. If we are near the drop zone at that point, he has to go. However, if it's a choice of keeping Harry and thus breaking the alleged strangle-hold some players have over the dressing room, then I would keep him until he has done that since that sort of power base can ruin any manager. The only positive at the moment is the ST prices!
Lets do a "Chelsea"...we can sack the manager & all the players and start all over again...we've got the cash...apparently !
Harold sorry but you haven't covered yourself in glory have you? ... Retire now you old dinosaur ... It seems very in now to retire. He has cocked our club right up and that's the truth... as said before i am waiting for the full swing on here that will show most that Hughes wasn't that bad and TF was right to stand by him. Did we ever hear Hughes slag off the players? ... This season apart from the awful start against the beautiful Swans should be looked at again ... Yes we now know the entire model was wrong to buy in so many new faces but sorry Lads Hughes was building albeit slowly ... and with the league as i said before having very little between 8th and 17th ... sorry I think Hughes may of fixed it ... Harold has made it a lot worse... he has to go IMO ... we are talking about a bloke who was a legend but only in his own lunchbox
Hughes didn't slag off the players. He didn't say much at all, including to the players. That's his style. Poor man management. Things were left to fester in the dressing room, and Harry inherited a basket case.
Can't disagree with a word he said but should he be saying to the press ? Surely he should be leading by example and I'd expect he'd want his players keeping their mouths shut, what goes on behind closed doors is a different matter.
Not a big fan of the QPR laundry press office. I was expecting to see the club being more and more professional in the way it runs its business - quietly get on with business, be professional and moral (as is possible in this more and more dishonourable sector) and inform fans on news through its own social media promptly and with respect (website, texts, news conferences). We look like 'Del boy trying to open a supermarket lately and our managers have been far to vocal in criticising the staff at front of shop and still expecting them to give 100%. Things need to change - any ****ing idiot knows that, but please - do it with dignity and don't go to the shallow depths of some of the mercaneries we have now. Get it done behind closed doors, make your changes and get on with the business of planning to fight for the championship. I'm fed up with the soap opera. I just want to watch my football team to win games and play some good entertaining football and win admiration for who we are. Is that too much to "hope" for???
