I don't think being former LFC means anything; Lawro is usually pretty negative about us and most Pool fans think he's a bit of a dick for it. Pundits should be judged on their merit, not by previous clubs played for. Eg Neville is a top pundit, but a tosser of a player to me. Lawro is the opposite. Shearer is dull and says nothing interesting. Hansen is ok, there's much worse. But I'd prefer any of those over the likes of Jason Roberts or Savage.
I'm not really bothered about Hanson really as I don't consider him the worst pundit in the world. I do however think that no one should be getting £1-1.5 million pay packets from license fee payer funding. MOTD could do with a bit of a cull to freshen things up. Iâm still trying to understand what Savage is doing there as he can barely string a sentence together! While theyâre at it they should get rid of Garth Crooks, that man is the most annoying pundit going.
I actually really like Hansen. Knows what he's talking about, doesn't mind telling it how it is, doesn't over-hype players, dry sense of humour. Good pundit IMO. Would like more Pat Nevin on MOTD though.
I was literally between them at the piss stone! Both nice chaps, had a chat. I stood next to Gordon Brown at the trough at Old Trafford once, didn't check his out though. Just barked 'Gordon Brown' really loudly and drunkenly and laughed. He was chancellor at the time.
I never watch the pundits anyway so can't say I am fussed either way. If MOTD starts at 10.30pm, I won't sit down to watch it until 11pm so it gives me enough time to be able to fast forward their ramblings IMO, MOTD should go back to the Des Lynam; not punditry, 100% football! Much cheaper too!
