Well, I wish he would get back here and do his job! Peskie (who, of course, is not the slightest bit wound up ) is all primed and ready to go. I'm getting bored with this - it's too easy.

Ah yes - it is seriously ******ed comments like that that have so far prevented me from ever clicking on this thread. Time travel? What's right is what makes fans from other decades proud? Of you? Zero understanding of the role that money plays now beyond what it used to? Being bottled as proof of, er, something...

    Lesson learned.

I have no idea what's been said on this thread so far. All I'll say is that Arsenal's players now react like this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-Tottenham-race-fourth-Champions-League.html to finishing fourth. Whereas Spurs are gutted to just miss out on CL football (by which I mean "money"). I think our two clubs are headed in very clear, very opposite directions.

    Enjoy yourselves, kids.

When will Arsenal be holding the open top bus parade to celebrate the 4th place cup they've won?

    I'll give you a summary:

    ---------------------

-HIAG's OP talked about Arsenal spiraling down the table, Spurs dominating, the North London Power shift, and Arsenal finishing outside of the top four.

-Myself and a few level headed spurs fans rightly pointed out that like before, these comments were likely to come back to haunt him.

-HIAG however pursued his deluded line of thinking through nearly fifty pages, digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself as he went.

-A few of his cheerleaders, nowsufferinginspain, PNP, Notso, totsfan tried in vain, like HIAG to claim that he had succeeded in 'winding up' those who commented on this thread, despite all the evidence illustrating that the opposite was happening, people were laughing at HIAG and his foot in mouth comments.

-As the final day of the season approached and it looked as though another one of HIAG's failed threads was going to come back to haunt him again, he did a runner.

-And he hasn't been seen since <laugh>

You wouldn't recognise a wind-up if they wrapped it around a 16 ton truck & ran you over with it!...<laugh>

Just to clarify... after being rubbish for most of the season and struggling outside the top 4... to then finish the season ABOVE our north London rivals and get the last Champions League spot, you expect the Arsenal players NOT to celebrate?

I'm sure if Spurs had finished 4th yesterday, they (and their fans) would still have trudged away from WHL angry at themselves for not winning the league...

In fact here are the sombre scenes at WHL when Spurs failed to win the league in 2010, and only just scraped into the top 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6VeRd1HzVI

Why are the Spurs players celebrating failure there???????

So Arsenal players get penalties for diving. Spurs players get booked instead of penalties. The difference is 1 point. Seems to me that the refs gifted Arsenal far more than that. Call it sour grapes if you like but if it's wrong it's wrong.

    :1980_boogie_down:;)

I'm intrigued as to the points that referees have supposedly given us this season? But you're right... if you'd had been given the penalty yesterday, you would have finished fo... oh wait...

    How are those grapes?? <whistle>

Bale made his bed... now he's lying in it.

But he's not wound up, he's just showing up HIAG... or something.

Really all Piskie's been doing is showing his obsession. It was funny for a little bit but there comes a time for everyone when you just start feeling bad for him, I couldn't imagine caring so much for one rival fan poster.

    My favourite bit is:

Asked if silverware now needs to be the next aim after another barren campaign in that area, Wenger added: 'We want of course to do that next season, but let's not forget the consistency we have shown over the years to get into the Champions League.'

Arsene Wenger, still a defeatist. Forget about trophies, look how consistent we are! <laugh>

Scraping the barrel a bit to find some way to have a go at Arsenal aren't you?? I admire that you're still doing that only 15 hours afterwards though ;)

Hardly scraping, there's plenty left in it. Are you honestly more pleased with the consistency in the last 7 seasons than you are annoyed with a lack of trophies?

Are you forgetting the bit where Wenger said, "We want of course to do that next season"? Are you annoyed with a lack of trophies at Spurs?

If you're a fan of team that wins a trophy, it brings about feelings of happiness and joy and some bragging rights. Granted, finishing top 4 doesn't give exactly the same buzz, but we still got all three of those things by finishing top 4 this season the way we did.

HIAG was so dense that he needed telling more than once, or twice, or 43 pages worth <laugh>

Did you really think that I was going to let him off the hook so easily ?

No, I hadn't my point was that he seems to think consistency is worthy of a mention when he should be talking about your own trophy drought and how unacceptable it is. It seems like he's settling, no?

Yes, I am annoyed about our lack of trophies but more than that, I'm annoyed with our poor attempts to even compete for them this season.

I don't think you remember what winning a trophies like if you can compare the "happiness" you get to the "bragging rights". Winning a trophy is all about elation and achievement, it's got very little to do with looking over your shoulder and blowing a raspberry. Unless you're Terry of course, inwhich case it's all about doing your best to take credit for other people's achievements.

If that's how you want to interpret it.

Are there enough trophies around for teams to get annoyed when they don't win one?

If you read what I said, I said it brings happiness and joy, and some bragging rights. If you're going to try and claim that if you won a trophy you wouldn't wind up some gooners even just a little bit, then you're talking bulls4it.

I've said it once and I'll say it a million times, no one cares, least of all HIAG. You clearly don't understand the tone of threads like these, it's really not that difficult to follow but you make the same mistake time and time again.

I'm sure I could have gone on your board and dug up tonnes of posts from the start of the season claiming that you would be much better this season as you wouldn't have such a bad start and that we'd be nowhere near you. Predictions made far more sincerely than HIAG's but frankly I come on to this football forum to talk about football not to harbour grudges that turn into a vendetta.

The only reason I reply to you on this thread is because I genuinly feel sorry for you and wish you'd stop wasting your time battling a battle that never was.

What HIAG does is very similar to a kid with a five pound note on the end of a string, pulling it away everytime someone goes to pick it up. You've followed him for miles and got the fiver but even then, instead of getting on with your life, you're celebrating raucously thinking you've beaten the game. If only you looked over your shoulder to see how far you'd gone for a fiver you'd realise that you haven't won at all.

Yes, I love the analogy. I think it may be lost on the intended recipient, however!..
