You're right, for a change. You won't change my opinion.

English clubs are miles behind Dortmund, Barca, Bayern and Real Madrid.

Like I said, it was a wild generalisation as football is football and we could take 4 points off Man Utd next season but it wouldn't make us better than them. What I meant was that I believe Arsenal are better or at least as good as Schalke.

And just so you know, Schalke went on to lose to Galatasaray 4-3 whilst Arsenal only lost on away goals to eventual finalists and possible winners Bayern.

Hence why an English club won it last year? Or did this power-shift only begin this season?

It'll be interesting to see how the English sides do next season, I firmly suspect you'll be put back in your place like you always are. "Has the reality hit home yet?" <laugh>

Chelsea won it through the skin of their teeth. It was like Denmark and Greece winning the Euros. Give them that scenario a million times and they'll never repeat it.

The sad thing is you know this. Arguing for arguments sake.

    But answer me this.

Do you honestly think any of the English sides are have been anywhere near Barca, Bayern, or Madrid or even if they have been in the 4 years after the Chelsea/United final?

Aside from Dortmund who have realised the potential they've shown in the last few seasons, no English side comes close to them.

No answer the same question based on the 4 years before and inclyding the Chelsea/United final.

English football has either dramatically fallen from grace or other leagues have overtaken them in the last 4 years. You either know this or are too ignorant to acknowledge it.

I'd agree on one front, and that is that both Bayern and Dortmund have become a lot more competitive recently. However, Dortmund will fall away immediately as they're losing all their best players and Bayern haven't been some great project like people make out, they've just spent a ****ing fortune.

How they won it doesn't matter, fact is, they won it.

United have been in 2 finals and Chelsea have won it since the all English final, yet you're asking me whether I think they've been anywhere near a Madrid side that hasn't made a single final in that time? Of course I do. The facts prove it.

I'd say 3 finalists and 1 winner in the last 4 years hardly proves we've "dramatically fallen from grace".

So you're saying the other clubs have over taken us then?

Real Madrid have had 3 semi finals, Barcelona have had 2 wins and 3 semi finals, Bayern have had 3 finals.

Man United were outclassed in their two finals and Chelsea had a massive slice of luck to win theirs.

    No, clearly not.

How do those stats prove they've overtaken us?

Representatives in Champions League finals since the all-English final:

    England - 3
    Spain - 2
    Germany - 2
    Italy - 1

Yeah, we've really fallen off a cliff haven't we. <doh>

Considering all 4 English teams are expected to challenge I wouldn't say thats a good record.

There are only two teams in Spain that are expected to challenge.

Up until this season only really 1 in Germany and the Italian league is ****ing dire, Juventus' success was a one off.

If you don't think that English clubs are miles behind Bayern, Barca and Madrid then you're a ****ing idiot.

It's okay, you keep thinking you're right in spite of the evidence that is in front of you. :emoticon-0137-clapp

You probably still think we won't make the top 6. <laugh>

I think it's distinctly apparent who the '****ing idiot' is. <laugh>

Ignoring the question won't help <laugh>

Are any of the English clubs close to Bayern/Barca/Madrid?

If you say yes then i'll be forced to conclude you enjoy sucking windows and your shoulder.

    It's assertions you're making, that's it, you've no evidence.

If I posted anyone who thinks Leyton Orient aren't the best club in the world eats ****, would that immediately make it fact? Of course not. Likewise, your bullshit claims hold no validity.

Of course Man Utd are close to Real Madrid, how could you possibly think they are not?

Played them off the park? <laugh>

You mean the game that United almost certainly would have won had it not been for a harsh red card to Nani, after which the Real Madrid manager even said Man Utd were the better team? Yes that proves there's a great gulf in class between the two sides ... :emoticon-0175-drunk

Oh for **** sake. Yes, they might not have "played them off the park" but they were undoubtedly the better side over the two legs.

To quote yourself. "Doesn't matter, fact is, they won it".

and they did it by bringing on a substitute. Something Man United couldn't deal with.
