Credit to Newcastle but we need to up the tempo, ditch the nerves and regain our fluidity in the 2nd half
Bit of a nervy half, to be expected I suppose, but it showed in our play. We're playing far too conservatively at the moment and lacking a sharp edge. I think Wenger will instruct his players to up the tempo in the 2nd half. This Newcastle team are there for the taking, but if we fanny about with the ball then we could get caught out. Need to step it up - and I expect us to do so
Rosicky needs to go off if he starts the second half like that, all he's done is repeatedly give the ball away
Poor effort first half. Well we are still in it. I think Sunderland are going to do us a favour too but we need to win this. Going to being a very very tense affair.
It feels like Newcastle have 2 or 3 players extra at times. That's how ineffective most of our team have been. Dire.
There is no difference between a draw and a loss for us. Spurs draw and we can afford to lose. We have to play for the win to make sure.
I'm a bit scared of another yellow by Rosicky... he's way too liberal with those sliding tackles from behind, but Wilshere might not be fully fit to replace him early.
That's what you get with Podolski up front. He might be more clinical in front of goal but Giroud is so much better at linking the play.
Wenger needs to take a leaf out of Fergie's book and give them a French hairdryer. I think it's mostly nerves, but showing a bit of grit and exertion can help ease a player into the game and give his teammates a lift. Let's see some bloody passion out there!
If i were Arsene, i'd threaten to sit the team down and force them to watch Batman & Robin if they lose. I didn't look good in that film. My reputation was destroyed.
