PGF, I expect pub guides next season By all accounts Spurs and us haven't had a pen in the league all season. I wonder ?
From the BBC preview This was the team that Rodgers built, and Laudrup, using his Spanish league know-how, perfected How do they work that out when of the regular starters, only Vorm and Routledge are Rodgers signings - the latter not even given a decent chance by Rodgers? I suppose it could be argued that Britton was signed by Rodgers, but that doesn't count as he was always a Jack. Not much of a build really is it?
We've had a few decent shouts too, Michu was assaulted in the box against Man city! Maybe we'll get one today, it does look dodgy on the stats that we haven't had one all season
Lee Mason is the ref today. He's officiated in 29 games showing 109 yellow and 3 red cards this season. The Last time he refereed a swans game was at the Hawthorns when the baggies beat us 2 - 1. Of course that was a game we should of won. Apart from the De Guzman unfortunate own goal, Mason ruling off side for Lamah's goal was a unbelievable decision! Lets hope the man has his eyes open a bit wider this afternoon.
Two teams with nothing to play for, except the money. Should be a cracker then. Let`s hope we can win to end on a high, 2-1 to the Mighty Swans.
If our boys can't win today for Laudrup's 8th place, then they don't deserve Europe next season, nothing short of a home win against a poor fulham side, who might I add, have never beaten us since our rise to the Premier league, will do, so I'm going for a 3-1 win to the mighty Swans!...............
Lee Mason is a total **** of a Ref when it comes to the Swans. Surely he will try and re dress the balance for that point he conned us out of up at WBA ? If he doesn't give us the rub in this one then he will confirm everything I think about him . To have no penalties when the likes of Dyer and Michu have been hacked to pieces is a joke , I have to say though that our players are far too relaxed about this kind of thing, I don't like to see it but until we start getting onto the Ref's a bit more they will always take the easy option and give us **** all, we don't shout and scream about it like the other teams do, while that is admirable we have to play whats in front of us and if that means employing basic physcology then so be it. Our Managers are a bit quite too, only Sousa seemed to get into them and ape ****, it builds the crowd as well ,not nice but until we play it the same as the other prem teams we will always be short changed
We need to go out on a high to give us confidence for a hard campaign next season. With Laudrup's projected signings, I would guess that some of our team will be playing for a regular start come August. We shall see what they are made of and, if we go for it, we might get somewhere rear replicating our first scoreline of the season. Whatever, I will be disappointed if we don't beat a demotivated Fulham team by two or three clear goals.
Personally I'm pleased that our players and managers don't get into refs' faces. I know it's cost us points but I hate the way that other teams bully the officials. Sousa's post match comments used to make me cringe sometimes. I know others disagree but I think respect about the way we go about our business is really important. Might change my mind if we were fighting relegation though.
I agree also KJ but us being respectful to the referee's seems to make us a soft target, meaning that they tend to be safe in the knowledge that a big mistake will have little comebacks on them afterwards. In a perfect world we should be able to let the ref do what he does best but sometimes they need to have pressure applied to them to make sure they are on the money with 50/50 calls . That's my view though I agree its not the best way to ensure fair play, which is something we haven't had on a few occasions this season. Going back to Sousa, I remember that season very well, absolutly nothing went for us despite his complaints so there is an argument that moaning about/to the ref doesn't get you anything anyway Unless its just a Swansea thing...
Rumours doing the rounds that ML agent is at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea v Everton game. Hope to God its to do with Lukaku and nothing else
Michel Vorm Angel Rangel Chico Flores Ashley Williams Ben Davies Leon Britton Jonathan de Guzman Wayne Routledge Nathan Dyer Pablo Hernandez Michu. SUBS: Gerhard Tremmel, Dwight Tiendalli, Garry Monk, Neil Taylor, Kemy Agustien, Roland Lamah, Itay Shechter. No Lukewarm on the bench. Guess he'll be off in the summer.
