Laing is a centre back mate, I wouldn't think playing a young lad out of position, on his first team debut, would be a wise choice.
played right back a few times for the reserves and during pre season I don't think I would play him though against Bale
Laing has been moved into cm recently once he returned from injury as he is so comfortable on the ball, been told he is excelling there but he can also still play RB and CB. Wouldn't be looking to play a youngster at right back against Bale as there's a probability he will murder them and wreck their confidence.
I'd stick colback at rb on bale and o'shea at lb where he's got a fair bit of experience. Might as well then trot out mangane and see what he has.
I'd be happy to see Mandron, Laing and Laidler get a run out today as we look towards next season. We do need to bring more young guns into the set up and Mandron and Wickham would be my strikeforce (too young to be scared). Laing has already skirted with first team affairs before so won't be overwhelmed either. Time for biug changes and Bardsley, like many others has let me down after I have defended him all season despite a lousy one for him, and his time may well be limited on Wearside. Maybe another one off to Hull City in the summer?
Been going on about this lad for about 2 year. Has played at every level possible for England up to now. that doesnt happen without some talent. Get him blooded in as our Centre Half next season or at least the cup games. Unusually for footballers he can kick with both feet as well. Class footballer.
Why not play laing at rb against bale. He wouldn't be expected to do well but if he did his confidence would go sky high.Young and fearless give him a shot.Or play him lb with jackie rb.
So many people saying the young uns should get a run out ! We owe it to arsenal to field our strongest team. We would be up in arms of they had fielded a weaker team against Wigan. Colback right back, Killgallon left
West ham want Bardo according to the Sun. I wouldnt envy them with McCartney on the left and Bardo on the right lol.
Don't understand all this resentment towards Bardo tbh. OK, he's had a **** season but has not been fully fit. Prior to this he's not really ever let us down & I for one hope he can regain his fitness & form.
I was thinking the same last night. Spot on mate. We have Arsenal to thank for saving our season and PL status. We have an obligation to put out the strongest side we can.
More or less what I said Billy. Better than some of them we have over there. Thing is is he on good money? The picture may have given them the excuse they needed.
We don't have anyone quick enough in the squad to deal with Bale full stop imo, hoping he has an off day.
