Atleast he works his socks off and has pace! Something Ameobi doesn't have.. sure Lovenkrands isn't that better but Ameobi is just a ****ing joke, he should have left the club ages ago. <ok>

Also Lover cant really do anything with all the floated crosses, so he only has Shola's flick ons to work with (so he might as well be sat on the bench in other words). Our style of play really is a lot more suited to a big striker.

Hopefully that will change with technical players being bought him(Menez, Insomina, Cabeye, Gamiero, Gervinho, etc).

Exactly, that's the problem right there, with HBA, Jonas and hopefully another decent winger we'll be playing a lot less direct and the likes of Lover would benefit more from a well timed poke into the box than Shola who has the positional awareness of a daddy longlegs.

Thing is, if we change to suit a small striker, we are effectively dropping Nolan. Barton has to play CM to play through balls rather than crosses and it's difficult to imagine where he might play.

that counts for nought in all reality. We need someone upfront who can be a constant threat, and score on a regular basis.

Yes. That's 100% right & I agree aswell. I think Gamiero & Sow fit into that bill. ''constant threat and score on a regular basis''. <ok>

A bit a a waste of time this one because he can't be better than what we already have. I would rather see us bringing Airey through this season given his outstanding reserves goals tally.

    1) Locate stool
    2) Find stool and stand under a strong fixture
    3) Locate Rope
    4) Drape rope over strong fixture and tie noose
    5) Stand on stool
    6) Put head through noose
    7) Kick chair from under you and hey presto you have suicide.

Why did I write that?? Signing Danny Graham would be suicide for us :\

Think what we should all agree on is that Ameobi and Lovenkrands are ****.

I dont see the difference between him and Airey. We are all dying to see Airey get games because he has scored 12 goals for the reserves, and we want a new local striker. Graham has scored 27 in the Championship, which Airey would do extremely well to match. I know he wont improve much as younger players like Airey will, but he clearly knows where the net is and wouldnt be too much of a gamble for a couple of million. Also if it worked out we'd have more local players in the side.

At worse I could see Graham being a better replacement for Lovenkrands.

He has had a good year this is not in doubt, but he has been around for years and has generally been a journeyman at best. It seems like alot of money both in fee and wages for somebody who could well be totally out of his league. I agree with other posters who have said that Best is better and with the other names linked I would pass on this guy I think. We can do so much better.

he's alright, I think we need better though. He'd be first out the door if we needed to get rid of a striker IMO
