Here is the current situation regarding our squad. Please feel free to comment below and if everyone is in agreement I’ll update with any changes.

I’ve made it a sticky because unless there is overwhelming disagreement I see this (together with the Stadium issue) as the major talking points for a while.

The following format is Position, Number Required, Number Confirmed, (Players Confirmed), (To Be Filled/Confirmed)

    Goalies 2,2 (Bull, Arnold)
    Right Backs 2,2 (Mccoy, Foster)
Centre Backs 4,3 (Winfield, Johnson, Halls), (TBF)
    Left Backs 2,2 (Sandell, Tunnicliffe)
    Right Mids 2,2 (Betsy*, Ainsworth)
Centre Mids 4,4 (Bloomfield, Harding, Lewis, Donnelly)
    Left Mids 2,1 (Betsy*), (Grant)
Strikers 4,5 (Rendell, Strevens, Beavon, McClure, Benyon)

    * Betsy can either play Right Mid or fill in at Left Mid if necessary

    WWFC News Headlines

And here are actual quad numbers (the ones not in our squad are in blue italics):

    1. Nikki BULL
    2. Danny FOSTER
    3. Andy SANDELL
    ]5. Dave WINFIELD
    ]6. Leon JOHNSON
    7. Gareth AINSWORTH
    8. Ben HARDING
    9. Scott RENDELL
    10. Matt BLOOMFIELD
    11. Kevin BETSY
    12. Ben STREVENS
    13. Matt INGRAM
    16. James TUNNICLIFFE
    17. Joel GRANT
    18. Stuart LEWIS
    19. Marvin McCOY
    20. Stuart BEAVON
    21. John HALLS
    22. Scott DONNELLY
    23. Elliot BENYON[/B]
    26. Jesse KEWLEY-GRAHAM
    27. Anthony STEWART
    28. Josh SCOWEN

    29. Matt McCLURE
    30. Kadeem HARRIS
    32. Steve ARNOLD

    Any one know why squad numbers 4, 14, 15, 24, 25, and 31 aren't being used?

    Final comment from Josh 13/8/2011
"Halls is CM, Tunni is CB, only 4 strikers now McClure has gone. Might want to take Arnold out and put Ingram in?

14 isn't used in honour of Mark Philo and 4 has been eternally damaged ever since Alan Bennett wore it and no future player wants to be associated with him."

Good to see Gary Waddock busy at work bringing in players he think will improve the club. I wonder if he will bring in more aldershot players eg Luke Gutteridge. Because he scored 10 for the shots last three seasons and is a decent midefielder. And another free-kick specialist.

From my Crewe source, Grant is primarily a left winger who can also play up front. He adds balance to the squad and I for one am delighted with the acquisition.

Yes if they are up to L1 football. Do any of these qualify? I guess KH is the most likely, having been offered pro contract, but I don't know much about these.

kadeem harris will probably be loaned out to gain experience ron,i have seen him a few times pacey ,tricky little winger looks to have a good future, anthony stewart has had rave reviews for the reserves this season so he could be one to watch out for as well ,but again i expect he will be loaned out to gain experience

Do we still have Matt McClure as a possible striker, or has he moved on?

Last I heard PB he was still under contract but I see he isn't in the "squad" for next year. I wonder if this is an oversight by us.

I may be a cynic, but don't they all say that?
In fairness to Mr Disco Pants, he did play quite well at the back end of the season. Not sure he is totally cut out for league 1, but will make a good back up

Scott Davies is no longer an option as he has signed for Crawley today. Can only mean either we didn't offer him anything or he has only gone for the money.

Hopefully it means we are close to getting Donnelly, which would mean that signing Davies would be excessive.
