Didn't we beat them 7-0 away in an FA Cup match once in the 90s? They were in the division above us at the time too. I've just looked for it on YouTube but couldn't find anything. I'm sure I didn't dream it!
Yep. 11th November 1995. And in 1956 we beat them 7 -3. And in 1925 we beat them 6 - 0. And 5 - 0 in 1937. Best of all was 8-1 in 1938. So, in summary, we have hammered them on several occasions in the dim and distant past but in the Premiership we have been beaten every time we have played them and only managed 1 goal in 3 matches.
Yes, I enjoyed the 7-0 win that day. Also made for some great chants when we then beat them in the league at The Vetch. Although actually better was winning away at Cardiff and and the few hundred of us singing "Are you Swansea in disguise". Glory days with Micky and Morgs. C O Y W
And the trend will continue Sunday . ,hopefully a good match but there will be" last game we're both safe feel" about it .
I'm hoping that the team will turn up and give one last effort to get three points. I don't think our league position reflects the season we've had, and 3 points would hopefully push up towards mid-table. There was a group of 4 of us going to Swansea that's now gone down to 2 we're staying over the weekend, but it looks like the poor run of results has damped most peoples enthusiasm, the same it seems for the team.
Good for you for making the trip, SuperBrian. I hope the team give you three points to take home with you. I agree that our league position doesn't seem to reflect our season - certainly not the first half of it - but at the end of the season I think everyone gets what they deserve. I hope we can make our final position seem a little more respectable on Sunday. A final win might make us all feel a little more positive over the summer.
Thanks, not really expecting to win, but looks like I'll be getting away from the rain in London to a bit better weather in Swansea, but I'm not packing the sun block.
