2 of my pals made a bet on the old firm. Loser had to get his pic taken with the opposite strip on. The Gers won so Timmy got his pic taken with the Gers top on. Pal's dad put a Happy Birthday Timmy message in the paper with the pic under it
In the last year... I took 8.5k off a local bookie a few weeks after moving to the Isle of Man, got 3 horses up in a Lucky 15, the last runner came 2nd and was looking the winner for a while (it would have been a £55k payout). To my astonishment he paid me out in cash, which is the most cash I've ever held - a big massive pile of it proudly sitting beside my tv for a few weeks. Anyway I'm now barred from that particular bookie. After that I built a program which systematically raped Betfred by having tiny bets on combinations of horses they were too big on (link) I went through about 20 accounts and lifted about £20k (although I did lose £6.5k on boxing day after placing £10k in £9.90 bets...). Eventually they changed their rules on this Lucky 15s - and with the effort of trying to find new accounts which haven't been blocked I've given up. I'm still formulating my next plan of attack.
For looks alone she gets my vote Those latest Eurovision Song Contest 2013 odds in full... Denmark 8/11 Norway 7/1 Ukraine 9/1 Azerbaijan 12/1 Russia 16/1 Italy 20/1 Holland 20/1 Ireland 20/1 Georgia 20/1 Germany 25/1 Sweden 33/1 United Kingdom 33/1 Finland 33/1 San Marino 33/1
I do the odd bet, mainly just ****ty wee accumulators, or league winners at the start of the season. Won £95 at the weekend betting on Wigan and then Russia in the ice hockey. Was tempted to lump it all on Chelsea - Bayern double, but decided to put it towards my holiday fund instead.
I remember a few years ago, I had a tip that Denmark were going to win the eurovision, it was the year that those daft ****s from Finland won it. I was telling every **** that Denmark was a sure thing. I put some money on it myself, looking back at it, why the **** I ever listened to some **** giving me a tip on eurvision I'll never know.
I do bets for a quid or two. Opened an account with £50 just before Euro 2012 started, still got £17.93 and two open bets on the Test Match which started today. Have placed easily over 100 bets from that £50. Lost over £10k on AIM shares, going to stick to FTSE100 from now on.
First share I bought was Leeds Utd, took a punt on their price recovering after it crashed. Tried the same with Northern Rock. Wouldn't touch a football share now or any company on the brink.
Lost $2000 dollars placed on number 16 in roulette in vegas once. **** knows why I put it all on one number. ****s and their free drink!
I have had a few £10,000 bets in my time, and a fair few other bets that are close to that figure. Some of them won and some lost. I dont bet like that anymore though, most i have on is a grand or 2 now. If your having big bets and your succesful, after a while your going to struggle to get your bets on. Most bookies are reluctant to take to many bets of that size
Mick,I think you are a bookie of some description but my question is this why do bookies not guarantee sp on multiple bets i.e Lucky 15's which is my bet of choice.I haven't seen it in bookies for a couple of years now,I might put on a bet at lunchtime and go back to work but won't take a price now 'cos of that practise, reason being?
Go to B365. You'll get best price gaurunteed on all UK & Irish horse racing including on multiples. Not sure bout other sports tho
Betfred did guarantee SP on Lucky 15s, but have now stopped (I had a bit of a hand in this decision, I think...) but the main reason, as a bookmaker, I hate best odds guaranteed in multiples is because it's impossible to know your liability. If the person has the first two winners out of four you will try to figure out what the payout is should the other two horses win, you need to know the payout so you can hedge some uncomfortable liabilities - if this guy wins 500k the business could have cash flow issues paying him out - so the difference between the last two horses starting 3/1 or the two horses starting 6/1 can be a 1/4 million difference in liability. So aye for the sake of an easy life I'd prefer multiple odds to be fixed.
I feckin' love Eurovision. That wee Danish bird is immense - basically Isla Fisher with Shakira's hair. Watched the semis on Tuesday - certain countries, Ukraine, Belarus etc basically seemed to forego regular human entrants and entered some new strain of sex cyborgs instead.
