8 years of competing at the top level with no money. Rather do it like that than buy all our trophies...
I would rather get relegated 2 divisions and win the Johnstons paint trophy than win the Europey League.
As Chelsea and Manchester City will tell you; if something isn't working, just throw money at the problem until it does. Arsenal have taken this to heart in their "socialist" wage structure. Arsene Wenger, still searching for the trophy to untangle that weighty albatross from around his club's sweaty neck, is now earning upwards of £7 million per year for managing the north Londoners. Not bad for a socialist paradise - it puts his total earnings in the eight years since his last piece of silverware at an impressive estimate of £56m. Maybe he just needs an extra tenner to get it right...
Arsenal's 2004-05 vintage were winners through and through, it seems. While the club have struggled to replicate those glory days, the members of that particular squad have had no such trouble. Having gradually departed the FA Cup-winning squad, no fewer than 53 trophies have been claimed by Arsene Wenger's former colleagues. A full 15 of that team have divided said titles between them - even Lauren grabbed the famous old cup again while in hilarious semi-retirement at Portsmouth!
Yep, since that fateful 2005, the following of England's top four professional leagues have won domestic trophies: Birmingham City, Brentford, Brighton, Carlisle, Charlton, Chelsea, Chesterfield, Leicester City, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, MK Dons, Newcastle, Norwich City, Notts County, Portsmouth, QPR, Reading, Scunthorpe, Southampton, Southend United, Sunderland, Swansea City, Swindon Town, Tottenham, Walsall, West Brom and Wolves. Not Arsenal. And that's not even counting the trophies that Football League outfits can get by winning in a playoff final - that takes the total up to 50! Maybe the Gunners should consider getting relegated; it could be just the confidence boost that they need...
127 years of History>>>>>9 Years of history. And any idiot can quote news reports. I just can't be bothered, because i'm Batman.
That post tells me how little you actually know about our club, or generally about wage structures and managers salaries, but then when you've got roman flashing his cash and spitting his dummy out sacking your managers, I guess you wouldn't know how that works

OK, we'll be here a while. Birmingham: Bought success and fluked a Carling cup Brentford, Brighton, Carlisle, Charlton: We can't play them Chelsea: Roman's bought you success. Emphasis on bought, not brought. Chesterfield, Leicester: Can't play them, lower league. Liverpool: Fluked a CL win and beat a championship side to win the Milk Cup Luton: Can't play Citeh: Bought success Manure: Bought Success MK: Can't play Newcastle: They got relegated to win something. That defeats the object. Norwich: Won League 1, couldn't play them Notts: Can't play Pompey: 'Arry bankrupted them by spending outside their means QPR: WOn the championship, don't count Reading: What did they win? Scunny: Lower league, don't count Soton: Won League 1, doesn't count Southend: Lower league Sunderland: Won the championship Swansea: Won the coc Swindon: Lower league Spurs: Fluked the Carling cup Walsall: lower league West brom: Lower league trophy Wolves: Won the championship So the vast majority of those teams are excluded because they won lower league honours not open to Arsenal. The remaining PL teams (teams that won honours whilst in the PL, so people like Newcastle don't count) can be excluded for various reasons. Birmingham: They won the COC, but got relegated, negating the win, and bankrupting themselves in the process Chelsea: You bought your trophies Liverpool: Flukes Citeh: Bought a PL title and FA cup win ManUre: Spend a lot of money, probably the 2nd most deserving winners on this list Pompey: Went broke, beat a championship side to win FA Cup Swansea: Most deserving winners on this list. Play football, spend wisely, live within their means and haven't bought success. Like a smaller us. Spurs: It was the Milk cup, and they spent a lot of money to win it. So aside from Swansea and Manure, everyone else is invalid in comparison to us, for one reason or another.
Apart from Manchester United, on that list we're not amongst the mercenary level, bankrupt clubs no...
