Finally got to see this tonight. What a cracking film about one of football's legends. And as I remembered what a **** Don Revie was.
sheen is brilliant. his portrayal of David Frost was magnificent in a truly fantastic film about the nixon watergate.
Well, I might as well tell you now. You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Don Revie. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest ****ing dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.
Loved it and read the book. The gall of Giles to take him to court ha ha.I have to live here and Giles is treated as a God,all over our football commentary.I'll give him that he was a great player and had a distinguished career as player and manager but I still laugh when Clough referred to him as 'Irish".
You idiots do realise it was fiction ****ing ****e film, clough was a ****, and was **** all without Peter Taylor
Don Revie was a ****. But for most of his career, Cloughie was seen as one also. He didn't become a national treasure until the end when he came to be regarded as largely harmless. Happens to all the old rebels (see Johnny Rotten, Peter Cook, all of Monty Python, etc.)
