Just had a call from my uncle who was at the SOL last evening for the Take That concert at the NE Premier sporting and entertainment venue. He was sat right in the centre by the tunnel and sitting behind him, in clear view in one of the boxes with wives and family, was none other than our Chairman accompanied by none other than David Moyes? Now, as a life long fan of conspiracy theories, do we just say it was pure coincidence that both men like the group and nothing more? Or do we say maybe a little pleasure AND business was being discussed? I haven't ever heard Quinny remark about a lifelong friendship with Moyes and don't recall anytime where Moyes and Quinny have been team mates? Should Bruce be concerned? Any thoughts folks?
I would imagine if Quinn would be far mor tactful if there was anything in this. More probably a case of Quinn doing a friend a favour.
Errrr no? My uncle is an SAFC supporter and football fan in general. If he saw David Moyes he wouldn't be mistaken and was sitting right in front of the box? You may not want to believe it but that doesn't make it so. Its not the point of whether he was there I am debating mate, that's a fact, its the reason he was there and as I said, maybe it was all just very innocent.
maybe the conversation went, "well david, iv'e had PATIENCE with bruce, but EVERYTHING CHANGES, if you came here, COULD IT BE MAGIC." Moyes replied "well iv'e been UP ALL NIGHT, thinking about the PROMISES you made, and you have SAID IT ALL. but kenwright wants me BACK FOR GOOD. So i will think about it." Ok david DO WHAT YOU LIKE, but IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE, and together we could RULE THE WORLD, so i PRAY that you make the right decision.
A little too much knowledge of Take That songs there for you not being a massive fan! Tell me: Robbie or no Robbie?
I remember when we played Portsmouth away with only a few games remaining. The camera panned round to the crowd and there was sat a certain mr bruce. my mam, who knows f all about football said and I quote "eeee I bet that means he's gonna be manager next season" my response "**** off, there's more chance of you being manager next season" errrrrrm oh well.
I must confess that I had a ticket for Monday night's performance and was going to go with my wife. However, I gave my ticket to a very close (female) friend of ours whose son was in hospital with serious head injuries at the time the tickets were on sale. By all accounts, last nights show was absolutely fantastic and I'm sure I would have enjoyed it if I was going.
Probably just a case of Moyes's family being Take That fans, although if there was more in it, I would welcome Moyes's with open arms.
Yes, I doubt if there was anything more to it than that. Mind you, a few people picked up on the fact that Quinn said we wouldn't be signing anyone much before August and that they'd just be doing preparation - that kind of buys him time, doesn't it? I'd welcome Moyes with open arms, too, but feel if he had any intention of leaving Goodison Park, there'd already have been a string of clubs after him.
All I can say is thank the Lord for Take That, as I am now unsupervised having just watched Jimmy Bond and will soon be watching CL Final in peace and quiet with a few beers and a kebab. I don't ask for much in life but this will do for starters.
