Ah, the Villa talk. No way can we accommodate his likely current wages.
    Even with a CL slot.

Was that the guy on TalkShite this morning? I was interested about his comments associated with the Malaga coach going to Man$ity. He was saying he'd be taking some 20 year old midfielder with him (sorry can't remember the name). The interesting thing was that he said Spurs were very close to signing this kid last summer, and the only reason we didn't was that we didn't get a CL place. So thanks again Chelski. I hadn't heard this one before, has anyone else? It would really be an extra kick in the teeth if this kid ends up starring for Man$ity against us due to the unfortunate way we didn't make the CL last year.

Sergi roberto is a tempo player with great close control. A mix between modric and Dembele.
And, for the record, if we were in for isco and didn't get him that's the worst news of the decade. That kid is insaneeeeeeely good. One of the best prospects in Europe. Bugger.
Villa seems to be picking up pace but of the two "high profile strikers" from Spain I'd prefer the Madrid reject of higuain. More time on the clock and is less likely to just play for a pay cheque. Ask qpr what supposedly excellent 31 year old players are like and you have my view. Can't see levy sanctioning a bid for either mind.

I always buy Sergi Roberto in FIFA. You can't have him. Go away.

we were heavily linked with Isco last summer. :(

I like the sound of this sergi roberto kid. heard nothing but good things about him. He'd thrive at somewhere like spurs where he'd get decent game time.

Have to agree on Higuain too for the reasons you say. However, despite our thoughts on levy sanctioning a bid, it really seems like it could be happening judging by the reports that seem to be everywhere.

The more i've thought about it the more i like the idea. I still think it could well be bs though.
Older players of his quality have so much more benefit than simply what they do on the pitch. He would bring a winning mentality (which we lack a bit of) and would aid the development of our youngsters and probably our not-so-youngsters too.

Also, it would be a big statement, both to our competitors and to our other transfer targets. Villa is VERY highly regarded and there is bound to be a certain amount of "if its good enough for David Villa....."

Alas, the same would be true if he went down the road.

Edit - didn't this exact thing happen in january?

I like the idea of both strikers.

Higuain for longevity and his excellent record so far, and Villa for his experience and class.

Both are great IMO, especially if we can get another youngster like Benteke who's premiership ready. He'll learn so much from either of those two.

I would LOVE both and a Benteke-a-like but i'm trying to live in the real world for a little bit. Such fantasies are for deadline day :)

But gains points for sounding like Cisco (possible sponsor tie up) .
I'll do the ads myself :

You want superior football : follow Spurs and the Isco kid.
You want superior networks : follow the Cisco kid.

This is excellent. Give levy a bell. He'd only cost 2 whole years of the sponsorship. And he's that good I think that's a bargain.

If we got lukaku and higuain... Not even marginally possible hahahahaha. God that'd be awesome. And we're not getting benteke as the third.

Sounds more like a Spaniard explaining the reason why West Ham got the R101 Stadium...

Having Cisco as a sponsor would be serious stuff.
I always thought the white shirt might also be tempting for Apple, but they are so
huge they don't need to bother with mere football clubs.
