HDM twitter feed reporting Bruce set to look elsewhere as Fulham insist on £3m for the keeper.

Shame, I feel sorry for him as that means back to the bench for him. Now, has anyone got Arsene Wenger's phone number?

We will have scouted better keepers this season. Stockdale did a good job for us and helped get us promoted, but we need an all round better keeper for the prem.

Lets not forget we do have Jakupovic... :headbang:

Jokes aside, Stockdale did a great job for the club, but IMO I'd rather have Boaz back in hoensty.

Not convinced that Stockdale would be good enough for the Prem. Now that Wigan are down, how about Al Habsi?

Mr Al Fayad obviously remembers the last time we were here and managed to get £5m from us for a player with broken knees.

Cheeky scamp is trying it on again.

We must walk away from this deal.

Well, he'd have plenty of experience at picking the ball out of the net.

I would go for Mannone, but it rather depends on budget.

Jol might well lose his job yet as Fulham are monitoring Poyet's position, so Bruce may well wait and see.

To be honest, I'm sick of being in this position every year!!

    Get it sorted Brucie!!

Martin Jol obviously wants to spend some wedge this summer and the more he can screw out of us the better....tell him to stick it I reckon!

Thing is, at 4m you aren't getting enough for your money. Leicester will probably want around that for Schmeichal, so I think Manonne, Moore (who's playing at Wembley on Saturday) and Bond would be decent choices. Bit left field, but could be tempt Scott Carson from his Turkish Bath House?

Is our Brucie a poker player? There could be a bit of bluffing going on....on both sides. :emoticon-0105-wink:

How many of them did he specifically earn us? I'd argue it was down to our defenders.

Good to see we aren't going to pay silly money for players - we've all got to have faith that Bruce will sign a keeper on a perm deal within the next week or so.

Why does everyone think stockdale a not good enough?

    It's baffling.

Who do you expect us to sign, Iker Casilas? Buffon? Maybe we could lure Barthez out of retirement....

Think this article is a bit misleading.

He's not too expensive, he's too expensive for what he is. We can (and I suspect will) pay £3m for a goalkeeper, we (Bruce) just don't think Stockdale is worth that. I suspect a huge percentage (99%?) agree.

Stockdale's main strength was relative reliability (relative to Jak and Gulacsi), and the fact that he never got injured and exposed us to the likes of Jak, Gul, or Amos. That's good, but not £3m good.

£1m as a back-up I think. But I don't think he wants that. Which is fair enough. But £3m Jol/Giraffe.

Mannone please, a keeper whos played in the cl, around world class players everyday, doesnt concede many goals unlike a relegated keeper, knows us and loved it here

    No brainer
