Nor, presumably, did anyone who is transporting a cargo of seagulls. Really, that ought to be the question asked: why in the hell is a man transporting a crate of seagulls, and what kind of idiot designed a bridge so shoddy that said crate of seagulls puts it over safe weight limits?

Assuming it's an entirely closed container, then I think the weight doesn't change. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction: the birds flapping their wings in order to fly causes a downward force of equal weight on the truck.

if it's entirely closed and assuming the seagulls have been in transit for a while , they have probably all suffocated anyway .

Good call. Besides, I'm not sure a truck in transit could be peaceful enough for a bunch of trapped seagulls to be resting, you'd think they'd be flying around the whole time.

Yeah, to produce lift the bird would exert a force on the floor of the box, so the weight does not decrease.

Well I'd personally put them in cages. Otherwise getting them out would be tricky, unless it's your intention for them to all fly away.

Can still flap around in cages. And it may be a ceremonial thing, the poor man's dove.

I scored 10/10. Is this something to be proud of or to be concerned about?

Questions like the seagull one have no right answer. At our school, our Careers teachers would tell us about some interview questions you could be asked, and questions like that seagull one are usually just made up on the spot by the interviewer, and then you will be judged on how you present your answer. You could try and answer the question itself, or just reply with something along the lines of "Seagulls aren't birds that would usually be carried in trucks".

Tbh I wish I had questions like that at my interview for Loughborough. I got asked about what I knew about downforce. Where's the fun in that?

More to the point could we put up with Gus "not my fault" Poyet's moaning for the next 3 weeks about how hard done by his seagulls were, and how his class of stick hitting would be welcome in the Premiership. 😇

Strange as it may seem, but no he can't. Obviously, the idea is to get the seagulls to take off inside the container [I guess it isn't a trick question where the seagulls are actually just sitting on top], so that they lose contact with the perch, but it isn't so simple as that. The seagulls are in the container, and whatever they do, they are part of the system and therefore its weight. If they take off inside the container, they are imparting a downward force equivalent to their weight/mass, and so the truck does not become lighter.

Was that the answer you wanted..? :)

Try another browser for comparison. IF another is unaffected, either use that or uninstall your favourite and then reinstall it. Should do the trick, provided that you also removed any custom settings you had set up before. HTH.
