Arsenal vs Wigan Athletic: Match Thread.

Barca proved against Bayern and Chelsea last season possesion is overrated all it takes is one good counter or set piece.

 

Actually free kick apart Wigan haven't shown much in attack apart from a few half chances. They have had a lot of the ball and we seem to be sitting too deep for some reason. I think we can win this but we need to show more urgency in attack.

 

... at the people blaming Szczesny. Not every goal needs a scapegoat. Blame the ref, you can for this one.

 

Rosicky has been poor for me. Just not providing the cutting edge we need in that role. Maybe move Santi there and get Oxo on the left.

I have said it before and I'll say it again. If the FA don't do something about Mike Dean then the whole integrity of the game is at stake. As so many people say, apart from Arsenal games he has a pretty impeccable record. For Arsenal to have won only 1 in 17 PL games that he has refereed, there really needs to be an investigation of some sort. It turns the whole league into a farce.

I really believe hisgood record apart from Arsenal games counts against him. He completely manipulates the pace of the game and disrupts Arsenal anytime they are dominating.

It's an absolute ****ing disgrace.

This season, in 45mins, may be declared a disaster.

 

If the game carries on the way it was going, Wigan are the only team winning this

 

I don't mind us sitting deep when wigan have got the ball, that's good defending i.e. good tactics.

We've played well in this half and we've been undone by a great free kick and a ****ish decision.

 

The one worrying thing I'd say is the goal we're shooting at in the second half, is where we usually shoot in the first half, may not be an issue, but our second half performances shooting on the North Bank side have always seen us playing much better football....While when it's been playing towards the clock end, hasn't been so pretty.

It might actually sharpen our focus again being 1-1 now.

I'd rather that be the score now, than wigan equalising in the second half.

W----r of a ref aside,its, because of a lack of quality we are in this situation,a little more quality and we would have a comfortable lead at half time,they were there for the taking,we are at home and our guys look like rabbits in headlights.

 

Let's hope the **** finds his guilty conscience in the 2nd half

 

Ill continue the calls of ****, Mike Dean is A ****ING ****! He was even ****y in the Chelsea-Spurs game giving decision in Spurs' favour.
